My jaw clenched. Mira leaned back; her voice calm and dreamy. "All night long, I thought about him." She laughed again. "And now? I believe in love at first sight." I stared at her, mute. This lady—this pathetic, manipulative lady—stood before me, confessing that somehow, in less than twenty-four hours, she had developed this pretty sick obsession for Alexander,my man. One measured breath came, then the next. "You're delusional ," I said, freezing her in place with my glare. "This conversation never took place. You are going to respect my father, and we are both going to pretend you never said all this."

Adam raised his hand, holding the folder. "Be my obsession," he said directly. His mysterious eyes darkened, and he looked at her as if he was dissecting not only her entire being but also her soul. She was completely mesmerized. Her gaze wandered across his furrowed brows, those thick lashes resting against his cheeks, and the sharp slope of his nose. Even in sleep, you still look serious and grumpy, Xavier… but hell, I’m not gonna lie—you’re heartbreakingly handsome. No wonder that redhead is so obsessed with you. For a few minutes, Ansel focused his attention on the designs in front of his eyes in order to get rid of strange delusions that entered his mind.
