“How the fuck did you let that peasant touch you?” Magnus pushed the heavy doors and flung his coat on the maid who was standing by the door. “Welcome, Alpha.” He didn’t respond, nor did he acknowledge the fact that someone was standing there. “I didn’t see it coming,” Caelan grumbled a response.

Before I could speak, the doors opened wide. A man stepped in. Tall, broad shoulders, his cloak frayed from travel. Scars crossed his arms, his jaw heavy with age and exile. The guards bristled, but he raised his hand slow. “I ask no fight,” he said, his voice deep and raw. “I am Magnus. Once Alpha of Redfang. Cast out, betrayed. I seek shelter… and truth.” Gasps spread. Magnus. A name I had heard only in whispers, a wolf cursed for war crimes long past. Why here? Why now?
