Maidenless No Longer (elden Ring) Novels & Stories

“Mate, you really should speak. After all, with the Moon-Glow Festival approaching, I don’t have much patience for this.” “Explain your relationship with her.” “Explain how that diamond ended up in her possession.” “And explain the matter of our shared assets.” Selene was nearly hysterical. “Mate, why does she keep calling you ‘mate’?” I laughed, genuinely amused by her stupidity. “It seems you really aren’t very bright.” “Allow me to introduce myself,” I said, my voice clear and cold. “Elara. Kael’s bonded mate. The kind with a formal, Council-recognized bond.”

In front of me. “I reject her,” he told the High Priestess. “The Moon Goddess is mistaken. My mate is Lyra Holloway. Alpha blood. Trained. Suitable.” Elder Moira went the color of ash. Her hands shook. “My prince, you cannot reject a fated bond. Not without ripping it out.” “Then rip it out,” Caiden said. “Do it now.” “Prince Caiden,” the Alpha King growled from the throne. His voice made the stone vibrate. “You will not defile the altar.”

The ceremony moved on. But the pull in my chest didn’t fade. It just turned into something darker. Something that felt a lot like regret. The ceremony didn’t end with Elara’s disappearance. It never does. Elder Mara cleared her throat, voice steady despite the tension still crackling in the air. “The Moon Goddess has spoken. The bond was offered and refused. We move forward.”

Freedom existed out there—real, untouchable. A knock came one evening as she lit the last candle. “Enter,” she said. It was Miren, the young maid assigned to bring her food. The girl’s hands trembled as she placed a tray on the table. “The prince is away with the generals tonight,” she whispered, as if the walls could listen. “He’ll return before dawn.” Elara nodded, forcing a small smile. “Thank you.” Miren hesitated. “They say he never sleeps. That the curse eats at him.”

Because I wasn’t sure which version of Elara he was seeing anymore. The Luna. Or the shadow. ⸻ The Elders returned that evening. “Something is brewing,” the oldest said, her voice cracked like ancient bark. “You opened a gate that was never meant to be touched. And now the realms bleed.” “What do I do?” I asked. “You separate.” Kael bristled. “Meaning?” “You give her a name,” the second Elder said. “You name what she is, and you strip it from you. You create a vessel, and you seal it.”

The fact that he's seated right beside me only worsens this. Suddenly, the king's hand claps, commanding everyone's attention. A hushed silence descends over the hall once more. “Much has transpired here in my absence,” Eldric begins. “My nephew, Magnus, has tied the knot. Here's to that,” he mutters, tossing his wine glass into the air. “And to you, Elara, welcome to this palace. And to Caelondor.” I'm momentarily at a loss for words. For a brief moment, I'm left gaping, struggling to find the right response. With a nervous cough, I manage a smile, settling for, “Thank you, Your Grace.”

Elantra’s POV I was unable to bear this tension, danger and peril as I watched the cold steel of the blade pressed against Malie's skin and her life hanging on a thread, depending on the whim and mercy of mercurial vampiric Fae. With determination, I spoke out: "King Kandreah, I, Elantra Proserpina Morterey of Wengarthria, am hereby granting you permission to enter the main Macabantran encampment and any of the subrealms of Wengarthria, which are under my jurisdiction! I have done what you asked for, now leave my sister alone”.

**The Silent Treatment** Elder Thorne stood beneath the ethereal glow of the moonlight, his heart swelling with both reverence and awe as he faced the moon goddess, a divine figure of unmatched beauty and power. Her silvery robes flowed around her like a celestial waterfall, shimmering gently as the soft breeze rustled the leaves overhead. The moon's radiant light poured forth, illuminating the sacred glade where he had ventured, his spirit filled with hope and purpose, seeking the moon goddess's wisdom to guide Caden, the young alpha, in his quest for a suitable luna.

I put an end to all their questions by saying, “This is our final decision, please don’t compel us anymore,” “You both have chosen to break the bond chosen by the moon goddess. In the name of god, please pronounce your rejection words now and sever the mate bond,” the elder said. I pronounced those heart wrenching words out of my mouth. “I, Sirena Chase, reject you, Alder Thane, as my mate,” Once I said that, I felt a heart pain all over me. I cried, I didn’t care if Alder was watching me or anyone. Alder took a few moments to utter those words. He must have thought about all the consequences that will happen after we leave this meeting hall.

To someone who was not supposed to be one of us. But he was exactly the thing I was running away from. Madelaine Malvak has died today, and instead of her, Madelaine Lyall has risen, Luna of the Koen Empire, formerly known as the Titan’s Heart pack. There was still so much to be talked about. There was still so much to understand, but for now, I just had to smile and put up a nice show for the wedding. I could do that, couldn’t I?
