“Can you pass it to me, Elias?”
I pushed the other plate in her direction without looking at her. My focus went back to Mina, who picked up one rangoon and bit into it immediately.
“This is good,” she said, voice bright with delight as she began eating in small, enthusiastic bites.
I chuckled under my breath. She was always like that with food—easily pleased, adorably focused, like the entire world disappeared when something tasted good. My mom laughed, too.
“I’m so happy every time I watch Mina eat,” she said warmly. “I mean, I can’t see her face, but I can tell she really loves food.”
