I bit his lower lip—not hard, not gentle, just enough to leave a little sting.
“I object to you speaking like that about him,” I said with mock anger, as if warning a toddler. “He is the best kind of man, beyond any woman’s dreams.”
He gently pulled my chin and caressed it with the tip of his thumb. “What about your dreams?” he whispered near my lips.
I answered in a whisper as well, “He’s good enough to remind me how to dream,” passionately.
