Being alone with a good book and alcohol or caffeine is the best feeling in the world, probably better than sex. The next day, I walked into Monet's and met a group of ladies who were fine as hell. I was relieved to see that there were no men here. At least if there was going to be a man, he should be gay, and we all agreed to that. We were six: Cindy Bellman, Aisha Mohammed, Drew Finch, Jessica Boston, Lexi Hale, and me. We were just six beautiful ladies who loved to talk about our favourite books and rant about how J. K. Rowling is a bitch for her transphobic tweets. Sometimes we'd just go out to have some fun. We weren't just a book club; we were a sisterhood.

Mia says fanning her face. Oh yeah, somehow in the past two weeks us girls have been getting together on Fridays to discuss our book of the week, kind of like a book club I suppose? Tonight we’re at Steph and Julian’s house while X and Julian are downstairs playing pool. “Fuck me that was such a hot chapter!” Alina squeals and then takes a big gulp from her glass of wine. “I’m telling you guys, you need to role-play that scene! A pink book with a couple smiling at each other on a heart frame on the cover is on his right hand and a red book with a short hair woman crying on the cover is on his left hand. “Which Doujin do you like, Your Highness?” Manik asked.

She asked and Maya tilted her head to one side. "I don't think so." She replied. "I have some mangas up with me, do you read?" She asked and Sanjana frowned. "You read comics?" She asked and Maya shook her head. "It's manga, different from comics." She stated and Sanjana turned her body to face Maya with a smile. "How are they different?" She asked and Maya smiled back wily at the woman before answering her question. "There are a lot of differences: First, they originate from different countries, Comics are mostly Western originated while the birth place of mangas is Japan. Second, Mangas are mostly black and white only with a few colored pages whereas comics are all colored. Third,-"

I didn’t even like books. Maybe that should’ve been my first clue. But after getting dumped by my ex—over text, mind you—I needed something, anything, to take my mind off it. I’m trying to be patient, but it’s harder than I’d like to admit. Two months ago, I opened my bookstore, and it’s been incredible. Twice a week, we host book clubs, and I’ve made it a point to bring one of the guys with me to each session. It’s hilarious watching their faces as we dive into the discussions. The women seem to enjoy it too—something about discussing steamy romance scenes with a bit of eye candy in the room. The door finally creaks open, and I sit up straighter as they walk in.
