Let's stick to the big three for now. First up, the Ragana, or witches. More or less human, I guess, but with a serious upgrade. While regular humans can only harness a tiny, almost negligible amount of magic—like trying to fill a bathtub with an eyedropper—magic in witches is powerful. It’s rooted deep into their very being, humming beneath their skin. Witches are able to harness power from the elements: fire, water, earth, air. And a select few? They can tap into something much darker, the element of shadow. It's the kind of power that makes your skin prickle just thinking about it.

He also felt he would not win against dozens of wolves, even if he were their Alpha; at least he could escape when there was an opening. A battle between the witches and the wolf ensued. Gunnar, Bianca, the guards, and the warriors all shifted into their wolves and ran into the crowd of witches. Helios, Hermes, Nyx, Eris, and Sabnac ran with the wolves and used their magic on the witches. Some of the witches froze when they realized they were fighting gods and goddesses. They knew their magic wouldn't be able to defeat them.

Around it stood a group of witches, adorned in flowing robes that glimmered with glowing runic tattoos, their eyes hungry with anticipation as they caught sight of the intruders. Amelia froze, heart racing as their presence enveloped the room in an alluring yet dangerous ambiance. The witches regarded the crew with an intensity that sent shivers coursing down her spine. “Look what the tide brought in,” one witch purred, her voice smooth as silk, an enigmatic smile creeping across her lips as she stepped forward. The flicker of torchlight caught the angles of her face, casting her in an ethereal glow that captivated Amelia's attention.

Kilburn howled in pain and tore at Magnus, but he was at an awkward angle and couldn’t sink his claws or teeth into Magnus’ hide. Now Magnus looked up to see the witch mate of Kilburn struggling with spells. Her being one against the five McConnell witch mates that were here. Witches used to fighting battles and working with wolves. Foolish woman thought that because she knew the way the forces flowed in the region, she could prevail.
