Shadows of the Lost
Someone whistled, and the world became wider, giving her space to breathe, which she did, looking like a dying fish trying to survive on the land.
When she opened her eyes, she found herself sitting on one of the big roots of the maple tree. Although it was making her back a little sore, it was easier to ignore it, as she satisfied herself with the falling maple leaves. Compared to dancers, the maple leaves could twirl magically, turning into a different shade as it’s pierced by the sunlight. As its tip touched the ground, it would be surrounded by raging flames, eating all of its residues until it turned into a pile of ashes, which would be guided by the wind back to its branches.
