The Alpha's Cure
Plastering on a fake look of concern, Melanie goes over to Deena, saying, "Deena, calm down. I'm sure the wedding's still on."
Covering my face, I turn and walk outside. Marisol's sitting on the beach. Ensuring Mama's nowhere lurking, I head to Marisol. As I approach, I can hear her crying. Soft, I call, "Marisol."
Wide-eyed, she jerks my way. Leaping up, she hugs me tight. Patting her back, I ask, "What's wrong? Why's Mama upset with you?"
A finger pressed against her lips, she grabs my hand and drags me into the woods. It's an eerie silence along with the sound of rippling waves. In the distance, we hear a long howl. Both of us stand frozen from fear until the howling stops.
