Marked By Moonfire
Its surface rippled like water disturbed by an unseen hand.
“…and so it shall again.”
The whisper licked across her skin.
A shiver raced down her spine. She pressed her palm to her stomach, instinctively protective—and gasped.
Beneath her hand, something flared.
Not the gentle warmth of life she had come to know, but a sudden, searing heat that cut through her like a blade of light.
“Kilian…” she whispered, voice trembling.
The mark appeared as if drawn by invisible fire—thin lines of silver and black tracing across her skin in a shape she could not yet understand. A crescent, yes, but shadowed. Imperfect. The light and dark interlocked like two halves of a wound.
