I heard thunder rumbling and I saw the flash of lightning as I looked up and the bolt struck me. “Alex!” Levi yelled as I fell to the ground. I could feel the electricity as it surged through me and the mark on my arm glowed a bright red and I screamed as it burned through my entire soul.

My heart was beating faster with every breath I was inhaling. Then, he turned around and walked away. I exhaled a breath, I didn't realise I was holding. But the moment he disappeared into the forest, the mark started burning, it was not the usual itching, it felt like someone was burning my skin from the inside. I held it with my other hand and closed my eyes. I opened my eyes when the pain was gone, but stared at my mark in horror. My mark was bright red.

Cocking her brow Sophia turned and felt a slight pinch. "Tada, this was embedded in your spine," Atlas mumbled sourly, holding up what looked like an acupuncture needle. "That was in me!" Sophia gasped. She watched Atlas crush the object into dust. "You are safe for now, miss transporter," Atlas teased. Rolling her eyes skyward, Sophia told him she didn't feel anyone insert it. "Why is a needle called a demon mark?" She asked curiously. "It is a demon mark for death and you were tagged like an animal to be taken to slaughter. Not all marks are made by the teeth," he mumbled with a shudder.

I would throw every last bit of power I had into it. I hunched over, barely noticing the throbbing in my gums as my teeth lengthened, and for a moment my mouth hovered hesitantly over the nape of my mate’s neck. Then I bit down, breaking skin, and the coppery-iron taste of his blood came spilling into my mouth as I Marked him. This is going to scar, I mused cynically to myself, wincing, but the observation lasted for barely a moment before I was plunged into a world of vibrant colors and emotions so overpowering I almost lost my footing at the joy of discovering that something remained of Hector.

He turned back to the fault lines. Sera was still pressing into the ground beside me and her earth mark was burning even and constant. Storm's lightning had gone very high and very bright and I could feel the electricity in the air on my skin and smell it. Kieran was at full output and the sun mark on his chest was the brightest I had ever seen it from this close and we were all four of us giving everything we had and the resonance was holding and I was not going to let go.

The Lumina Mark was glowing with this steady silver light, pulsing like it had its own heartbeat. It was warm against my skin, almost alive, but it didn't know I was planning to give it up as some kind of sacrifice. I think that made it worse somehow.

The round eyed girl grumbled. Skandar saw her neck to the top of the breast which Charisa pointed at. The mature man only remembered that if it would be still weekend the day after, and the girl would not go to school. He became more aggressive than usual, so that all these marks were created.
