Luckily..all of the promotion materials are sorted by the title of the books, so literally easy-peasy. Or he would ask me, "Li, try to find display items for the book launching."

I ask hoping that was the case so I can grab one that's near the check stand of all the reserved books for their customers. I was starting to feel self-conscious of myself as I caught the woman still looking but shook it off as I had to work. "Yes it's under the name of Kennedy smith” she replies. I nodded and looked up the name, once got to the checkout stand, finding it rather quickly then did the whole check out process for reserved books before putting in a bag for her.

My steps fall silent occasionally as I cross large, intricately woven rugs scattered about. I head straight for the aisle Celeste pointed out, offering her a small wave before disappearing between the labyrinth of bookshelves. Each section is marked with hand-carved plaques, their inscriptions barely legible in the dim light. They guide the way to different realms of knowledge: Alchemy, Herbology, History, and more. The books themselves are bound in various shades of leather, some adorned with golden leaves, others with intricate metal clasps. Many are so ancient that their titles have worn away, leaving only the texture of the leather to hint at the secrets within.

I would say to the readers that wrote about the missing books that all Hogwarts' library's books are marked by the school magics the moment that the said book is added to the library's collection. That is to allow the library to recall all 'lost' books back to it, no matter where it is. From what I could understand, a 'recall' has not been done in the last fifty years, so that's why the number of recovered books was so big. I start to rifle through the old musty smelling box of books that had been left on my porch, when I notice a little children’s book. I see the symbol of the Golden Children’s Books printed on it, then a little sticker on the binding indicating that it belongs to the library catches my eye. Examining it closer, the pages are bent back and discolored, but the book is still in suitable condition. My nails peel at the tape as I fidget and try to figure out what to do next.

Then my boot caught on something half-hidden under pallet shadow - a leather-bound ledger, its corners frayed, a list of shipments scrawled in a hand that didn’t fear ink. I pried it free. The pages were numbered, times and names recorded like a tax of sin. Pallet numbers. Courier names. Routes that slipped through the dockside like a vein. And on one of the shipment slips, tucked like a signature, was a mark - the kind of symbol you’d only use where you wanted a man to know the order came from a boss. My blood went cold and hot at the same time. The mark? A crudely drawn fox head with a vertical line through it. I had the sensation of hands closing where air had been.

I move closer, drawn by something I don't understand, my fear momentarily eclipsed by fascination. The carvings are beautiful and terrible. Wolves with their heads thrown back in silent howls. Crescent moons in various phases, waxing and waning across the stone surface. Symbols I don't recognize but that make something deep in my chest tighten with recognition. How can I recognize something I've never seen before?

The binding looked older than the other textbooks, and something about its placement on the shelf struck me as odd. As I strained my eyes to get a better look at it, I noticed a small part torn on the ridge side of the book, a tiny imperfection that caught my attention. The tear was subtle, barely visible unless you were looking closely, but it seemed deliberate somehow, like it had been created to mark something specific.

He frowned slightly and said to Clara, "Don't touch her. She's filthy. She'll stain your dress." I froze, my face tingling as embarrassment washed over me. Clara noticed my expression and lightly punched Marcus in the chest. "Is that how an Alpha is supposed to behave? How could you talk about your mate like that?" Then she turned to me. "Don't take it personally. He just says the first thing that pops up in his head. He really loves you. I'm sure of it. I know him better than anyone." Despite getting punched, Marcus didn't get angry at all. Instead, he smiled at Clara indulgently.
