THE MARRIAGE GAME
"I will marry you, but… what will happen to me after we're wed?"
"Emma, good to hear from you." I hate the smugness in his voice. "Just be a good, lowkey wife. That's all, I just need you to be my spouse on paper. We will divorce after a year, I'll have my assistant draft up a contract, and the marriage certificate as well. He'll pick you up from your home tomorrow."
"You know where I live?" Goosebumps spread over my skin.
"I know everything anymore."
The next day, as I read the contract that stated clearly that we are not to interfere with each others' personal lives, I'm meant to steer away from the media, from making it known I'm married to him, even though that may get out.
