Our eyes met as the door shut behind me. The maze of people that blocked my way earlier to reach room 3254 now were not such a hassle for me to surpass. This time around I just let them swallow me whole. As I reach the doors I can see Leah Meyers, the woman at the front desk, looking at me with the same hazed expression as earlier. I locked eyes with her for just a brief second, before I burst through the glass sliding doors as it opened. The weather is quite hot today, unusually hot. A strange ringing sound started to sound in my ears. How strange?

Then it dawned on her like an epiphany. “Oh my kami!” “What? What is it?” Sasha asked, alarmed. He had stopped walking and turned around. “Now I know why they said only kids can enter the maze.” “Why? What are you talking about?” “The maze designs. I know what they are.” “Really? That’s great! Well… don’t leave me hanging here. What are they?” Aki stared at Sasha and answered: “Cat’s cradle.”

Frank said. "Exactly Mr. Frank, so even if they get access to this elevator, it would be of no use, it's remote-controlled," Maze proudly revealed. "You sound like you built this place," Frank said. "Maze is a specialist who builds places that are hard to access or escape," I told Frank. "Ha, Maze. I get it now," Frank nodded thoughtfully, clearly impressed. Her name was a pun on what she did for a living. The elevator door slid open and the three of us entered.

Maze is reserved on the outside, cold to some but soft as a marshmallow underneath it all. In a way, Maze reminds me of myself, and now I'm beginning to understand that we belong together. Maze is my mate, and I can't stay away from her anymore. She has those kinds of eyes that can see into your soul and captivate you on the spot. I'm already placed under her spell, unable to break free.

The walkway begins to incline and Van knows that they are going higher. “We’re here,” Grizzlebark reminded. Like an automated door that opens when someone is entering, the leaves move to make a way for him. And from there Van now sees the whole place. There is actually a giant maze hidden in the forest. Due to the wall of trees blocking the view, the maze is not visible on the ground. In the middle of the maze is a large rotating hole, like a swirling eye of a vortex. A giant hourglass is suspended above the maze. “The hole will lead you out of this place,” Grizzlebark explained, “but you must cross the woods first to reach the maze. Just remember to keep going forward and do not look back.”

"Can you actually run, or are you going to be a problem?” "I can run." "You are already limping." "I said I can run." He turned left. I ran. The maze was three floors, connected by stairwells that were not marked on any visible map, so you either found them by moving or you died waiting. The walls were concrete panels on slow hydraulic tracks, moving inward at a rate that was almost imperceptible until suddenly it was not. A corridor that was eight feet wide became six feet, then four, and if you were still in it at two feet, the sensors registered you as eliminated, and the panels completed the job.

Maria stared in astonishment at how mesmerising his eyes were and the mole—he had a mole on his nose. Something about it felt awfully familiar. Does she know this person?

“Olivia!” “What?!” “Have you seen Faith?” “I told you to watch her, Richard Marcus Sanders! I'm changing Joy!” “I was busy! Okay?” “Yes!” She said knowing I wasn’t “Candy Crush surely occupied all of your time!” I couldn't help the annoyed gesture my mouth made. I had a new addiction and it was this stupid game, and of course, Olivia had discovered it, and now whenever I got distracted with it and lost any of the girls, or both, she always said the same thing:

Marco's voice startles me. So, he followed me? Why? Does he care or does he want to mock me further?

Those who enter will never be the same again…if they are able to come back” “Ooh, I love this!” Linda pushed the door open, unable to wait any longer. “Let’s just find Olivia and get my phone back, okay?” I rolled my eyes again and went after her, followed by my boy-crush. It was like we were in one of those scary places in the amusement parks. In the dim light, we were in a maze resembling a cave. Cartoon ghosts, witches and vampires popped out when we approached them, slowly walking around. “Maybe we should separate and find the exit from the maze,” Thomas offered.
