He spun around, raised his blade, and prepared to strike—only to stop completely dead in his tracks. Stepping through the shattered fire escape door onto the sunlit roof was a two-meter-tall, marble-pale figure in sweatpants and a giant pink sun hat. Dark, luminous purple veins crackled across my face, my four-inch obsidian talons gleamed in the light, and my eyes burned like twin, blinding suns of pure crimson light. Behind me, two hundred terrifying zombies were sitting neatly on the stairs like polite elementary school students waiting for storytime. Kael’s purple gravity aura flickered once, twice, and completely died out.

All of them united in death, their bodies repurposed as mobile soil for a parasitic ecosystem. "Zombies?" Ben shrieked. "Plant zombies?! That wasn't in the brochure!" "They're not undead," Jack realized, watching the way their limbs moved. "The plants... they've rooted into the nervous system. They're using the bio-electric signals to drive the muscles. They're puppets." The lead zombie—the explorer—lunged. It moved with terrifying speed, its limbs snapping like whipcord. "Fire!" Jack roared. Marcus unleashed the minigun.

A strange sound came from the flooded road. It was not thunder. It sounded like something scraping against the bottom of the vehicle. Marcus turned toward the water. “Did anyone else hear that?” Before anyone could answer, a pale hand rose from the muddy stream. A zombie pulled itself onto the road. Its clothes were covered in mud, and its skin had turned dark from the infection. Water poured from its mouth as it dragged its body toward them. Another head appeared behind it. Then another. Evelyn raised her weapon. “Get away from the water!” The first zombie lunged toward Marcus.

+5 Energy. [Target Eliminated! +5 Energy.] [Target Eliminated! +5 Energy.] "Multi-kill! Keep 'em coming!" I cheered as floating blue text flooded my vision like a chaotic video game feed. The front rank of fifteen zombies collapsed instantly, impaled on the shadow spikes. The dark purple cores popped out of their skulls like bubbly foam, rolling down the sloped asphalt straight toward me! I swept my arm sideways, absorbing all fifteen glowing purple marbles at once!

“The wound itself is a deep puncture, consistent with teeth, but it appears the skin barrier held enough to prevent full transmission. You’re remarkably fortunate, Mr. Blackwood.” “I’ll take fortunate.” Once Dr. Varga left to check on the rest of the breach’s minor casualties, Vanessa rounded on him immediately, relief curdling fast into something closer to furious affection. “You scared the absolute hell out of me,” she said, already reaching for the medical supplies left on the counter. “I was somewhat alarmed myself.” “Don’t do that again.” “I’ll attempt to avoid future zombie bites, yes, that seems reasonable.” “I’m serious, Adrian.” “I know you are. I promise to prioritize not getting b

They wiped their tears and apologized to me. They explained that the upcoming base competition would require contestants to use their superpowers to fight zombies. For safety's sake, they would only use zombies that already had antibodies developed against them, so even if the contestants were bitten, they could be saved. I made a request, "Our base will send contestants too, right? Let me participate. Also, change the zombies to the type that contains the most deadly virus, the one that you just developed an antibody for but haven't announced yet." After taking the antibody, I felt power coursing through me.

He averted his eyes on my face once more, his smile completely faded. "NO FUCKING WAY! Don't tell me that zombies are real too!" UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE! I started to hyperventilate! Witches, I can handle, werewolves, ok I can also handle, but not motherfucking zombies - I hate zombies, even the nice ones like Liv from The series I-zombie. They just creep me the heck out! My mind went into a downward spiral, thinking up ways to survive a crazy, zombie apocalypse.

," Jimmy ask tapping her. He did not intend to ask that question but since she went mute after calming Jasper and Sharon down, he decided to bring her back to reality but she suddenly came back uttering nonsense, maybe it's nonsense to them but not to her. "Vampires and zombies," Lena answered Jimmy's questions. "Vampires and zombies?,"Jimmy ask and she nodded in confirmation. "Why are you suddenly talking about vampires and zombies?" Maverick ask. "Huh ?" She arch her brows as she stared at him then at Sharon. "Aunt?" Jimmy tap her again. "Why are you talking about vampires and zombies?" He ask "Ohh that!," she let out a nervous smile. "That was nothing. I just remembered a movie I watched

I could sense nothing but anger from him, strong anger and hatred for the werewolves. "These werewolves who have been living among us stealing our information and plans so they can destroy everything we have and built will be weakened and killed, every single one of them, especially the blood eyes wolf who is known as the alpha of all werewolf!"Bazaar yelled with all his might in anger. Suddenly everyone turns to the wall hearing a very loud growl. "I see he has gotten the message," I heard Bazaar laugh. My attention turned to him and I didn't know whether it was him I should fear instead of the werewolf or both. He had seemed to finally lose his mind repeatedly going against the werewolves.

Either way, I fell hard for him, even if he scared me. When I was sixteen, everything changed. The entire world changed because we realized we weren’t alone. I’m not talking about aliens. Nope, crazy as it sounds, I’m talking about Zombies. Not the slow, dumb kind. It turns out zombies are fast, strong, intelligent, and vicious. Not only do they eat brains, but they will eat human flesh if brains are available. We didn’t get zombies from a virus, a vaccine, or any of the normal things in the books, movies, or TV shows. It turns out zombies come from a mutated human gene that activates after death. This mutated gene is inherited by one's father if he carries the mutation.
