Other side of the world, a man with a mask in a black hoodie with 'D' printed on it's back, most of his face was not visible to expect of his hazel brown eyes, he got down from the car. Every bodyguard and higher ups stood at the entrance to greet him.

* He said to himself as he sat on one of the vacant stools in front of the counter and requested his drink. "Thank you." He said as he grapped the glass and placed his lips on it. He turned to the back to look at the people who were in the bar and it was then that he realised that they were dressed masquerade theme. Everyone including the waiters and waitresses had masquerade masks on. *Wtf!* He swore as he looked around. Then he remembered why the front was so colorful before he came in. God only knows what they were on about. But then his memory flashed the words in front of him.

I lowered the crowbar back to the floor and stood slowly from where I had been crouching in front of the Beetle. I watched his house to see if anyone else would be coming out, so far no one did. This was probably my only chance at getting back at the piece of shit. I pulled the zipper on my Darth Vader mask hoodie up to my neck and pulled the hoodie over my head but left my face bare. I didn't want to draw too much attention from any unsuspecting neighbours by using the mask, plus I hated the stupid eye holes that came with it.

I quickly averted my gaze, pretending to be interested in my drink, but he approached me nonetheless. "Hey there, beautiful. May I have this dance?" he asked, his voice smooth and low.

I wanted to rip the mask off, to let him see the monster and the woman, and to lose myself in the heat of his embrace. But as his fingers moved toward the silk ribbons at the back of my head, a cold splash of reality hit me. I am a murderer, I reminded myself. I am an impostor in a dead girl's palace. He is a man of the South, a man of secrets. If I let him see me—truly see me—I would lose the only armor I had left. The power of my eyes was my greatest weapon, but my mask was my greatest shield. Just as his fingers brushed the knot of the ribbon, I grabbed his wrist. My grip was unnaturally strong, fueled by the desperation of a cornered animal.

He left again like a man running a war from a tablet. The next evening, I met them in the lobby like we were about to execute a bank heist instead of watch a movie. Rory wore a beanie pulled low and glasses that were absolutely fake. Micah wore a plain hoodie and a cap, minimal and effective. Jace wore a black hoodie, cap, and a medical mask like he was hiding from germs and destiny. “Do I look normal?” Rory whispered loudly. “No,” I whispered back. “You look like a celebrity trying to look normal.”

Everyone felt a strong killing intent and a bloody aura. "Hahaha, this day has finally arrived!" A figure covered in a black hoodie cloak was standing in the shadow on one side of the street. He was laughing loudly while looking up at the rift in the sky. When he slightly leaned over, a bronze grimace mask was revealed at the edge of the hoodie. The expression of the mask was crying as well as laughing. Under the mask, there was a crazy look flashing in his eyes. No one discovered when he had appeared. He had appeared and disappeared like a specter.

*** In a dark room *** Looking into the dark room, you can see a couple of pictures pinned to a single section of the wall. On some of the pictures, markers had been used to draw an X on the faces. It was clear that these people must have had something happen to them, something clearly not good. Peering into the dimly lit abysmal room, a guy can be seen standing inside. He can be seen wearing a black hoodie with a nose mask. On the nose mask, the skull and bones sign, reminiscent of pirate ships, can be seen engraved on the black mask. There was some creepy slow music playing in the background and a bit of fog from the remains of put out cigarette butts. Who could this guy be?.........
