Maya's Pov Sleep did not come easily and when it did, it was heavy, restless, and loaded with unease, like I had swallowed something bitter that decided to ignore it. My body was exhausted, but my mind wouldn’t keep quiet. Images of the day flashed in and out, the park, the laughter of my children, the way I pretended to be fine when inside I was crashing and the anticipation of Adam’s action was slowly driving me crazy. Somewhen along the line, my eyes finally closed against my will and the darkness pulled me in.

However, his kind actions made me immersed in fantasies that made me dream of a good future with him by my side to protect me. Thinking of that, my heart ached. I was even a little dizzy, looking at the scene around me that I thought it was a dream. I had been a little tired these past few days, probably due to the pressure of the upcoming exam. I set very high goals for myself so I couldn't sleep well. Matthew had reminded me a lot about that, he even forced me to go to sleep many times, but even if I turned off the lights and closed my eyes, I still found it difficult to fall asleep.

I hated that I had made a promise to my mom when I was unsure of what tomorrow maybe. I begin to stare at the ceiling. I was now eager for tomorrow to come that I wish I could just shut my eyes for a second and open them seeing that it was a new day already. Sadly, it was never going to be that way. I had to wait and it was killing me. I close my eyes trying to force myself to sleep. Being up and watching for the day to come was quite stressful. It will be much better if I fall asleep. I tried but each time I end up opening my eyes. I couldn't fall asleep. I wasn't sleepy.

She was glad to have something to do because soon I heard her voice telling the maid what to do and how to do it. Jimmy also caught on to my good mood as he kept on teasing me. "How about you get a little sleep before they arrive? You look so tired." I shook my head. He just doesn't get it. It wasn't the fact that I don't want to sleep, it was just that I was unable to close my eyes without one of Chris's pictures coming to my mind. And the moment the picture was on my mind, it was difficult to drift off to dreamland. Maybe, after seeing him, I would rest assured it was all real and finally be able to sleep for a few hours.

I just wanted to crawl under the covers and forget about everything. I closed my eyes and tried to clear my mind. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't stop thinking about Liam. Images of him kept flashing through my mind, like a movie reel on repeat. I tossed and turned, unable to find a comfortable position. The more I tried to sleep, the more awake I felt. I felt trapped in a vicious cycle of sleeplessness and worry.

Those three guys are already knocked out. "Good night, Marigold." A smile flashed on her lips. I can't help but smile as well. What are we now? Does she consider me as a friend? If that is so, then I would be so happy. Ella was already asleep minutes later but here I am, still totally awake. I've already lied down, even closed my eyes so I could sleep but I still cannot sleep. And I couldn't even if I wanted to. What is wrong with me? Why can't I sleep? How hard is it to just close my freaking eyes and slowly losing consciousness of my surroundings as I started to dream of my crush?

Put on my night clothes. I lay down on the bed. Stared at the ceiling. I didn't sleep. Ps: conversations could be better, I know but I'm using a transcribing method.

I went to bed that night with mixed emotions, despite having achieved a significant milestone. The next morning, I wake up feeling groggy and irritable. Hermione's smile haunts my dreams, and just as she is in reality, she remains elusive. The frustration I experienced during my sleep, stemming from our ongoing game of cat and mouse, lingers as I become more alert.

I calmed myself down and erased my irritation. My eyes are still sleepy and half-closed. I tried opening it pero wala talaga akong makita kundi, blurry pictures. I can’t even identify what’s in front of me. Whenever, I open my eyes, humahapdi ito. Kaya kapag minumulat ko ang mga ito ay hindi ma-iwasang maluha. I yawned, stretching my arms and limbs. Grabe! na pakasarap sa pakiramdam. I really did have a good night sleep, dahil ito sa malambot na unan, kumot at kama.

Nagpalit ako ng pang-itaas na damit at pagkatapos ay humilata na ako sa couch na naroon sa gilid. Sinubukan kong ipikit ang aking mga mata at halos isang oras na ang nakalipas ay hindi naman ako makatulog. Nakapikit nga ang aking mata subalit gising naman ang aking diwa. Naiinis na bumangon ako at napilitan na lang din akong umuwi.
