Matt interrupted sharply, the gun in his hand trembling. At this point, Matt couldn't take it any longer. He'd kill Lucas first. He removed the gun from Valerie's head and then aimed. The defeaning sound of a gunshot echoed through the air. Eyes wide with shock and parted lips was the reaction from almost everyone. “No!!” Valerie screamed.

Matthias was already gone, disappeared into the smoke. Another figure emerged moving with the grace of a predator. He looked at me, then at the dead man, and lowered his weapon.

I asked across the corridor. My voice traveled to him fast as it was dead silent at night. " I don't know, Hannah," he replied, looking back down at the floor. " Did the security cameras not show anything? How did Matt get shot if there was so much security around the house?" I asked, moving towards him and taking a seat next to him. " The shooter knew the entire security system to the back of his palm. He knew where and how to hide in a way that we cannot even identify his height. The only thing that we can be certain of is that the person is a male. The police have been informed, Hannah. They will get to the bottom of this," Daniel reassured, placing his palm on my thigh.

The man was a f*cking Jedi. A movement behind me got my attention and I looked back, turning just in time to dodge a blow of an iron bat from a small guy that came out of nowhere. I cursed before pointing my own gun at him and shooting him in the shoulder. The guy fell back, but I didn’t wait to know if he was dead or not. My heart was beating really fast and the adrenaline coursing through me was what was keeping me going. I couldn’t stop. As I turned around to take in my surroundings once more and check if anyone might need my help, my heart sank to my stomach as I saw Matias get shot in the head, his body collapsing lifeless on the ground.

I warned. "Or what‌?" Matteo sneered.‌ "You'll kill me? You're al⁠ready going t⁠o ki​ll me, Lorenzo. The only⁠ questi‍on is‌..." He raised the g‌un fa‍ster than I e‍xpec‌ted. BANG‍. The bu​ll‍et slamme‍d into my sh‍oul⁠der—the same sho⁠ulder I had injured in the ca‌r‌ c‌rash weeks ago.

"You need to get out of here." "Not without you," I say. "Can you walk?" "I can try." We're completely exposed here in the center of the warehouse. I need to get Elias to safety so I can help Asher. That's when I see Matteo Vescari emerge from behind a shipping container. He's massive, built like a linebacker, with a machine gun in his hands. Matteo raises his weapon, and I know Asher is about to die. Without thinking, I let go of Elias and charge.

Ricardo grinned, a nasty glint in his eye. "You do the honors," he said, stepping aside to give me a clear shot. My heart pounded so hard I could hear it in my ears. I raised the gun, aimed at Matteo’s knees, and fired… once, twice, both bullets sinking deep into his legs. Blood sprayed across the floor like a broken pipe. Still, Matteo didn't fall. Not yet. Ricardo clapped a hand on my shoulder. "Welldone.” Then he stepped past me and drove the butt of his gun into Matteo’s temple for good measure.

Matteo took the gun from me, snapping me out of my gaze. “Are you listening?” he asked. “I lost focus.” He placed the gun back in my hand. “Again.” This time, I tightened my grip, raised the gun, aligned the shot, and fired. Matteo watched in silence. “Good.” “Training ends here. Ethan will take you back.” As I gathered my gear, Matteo's eyes caught mine across the room. He leaned against the doorway, arms crossed, blocking my exit. “You did well today,” he said.

Miguel, one of Matias' men, showed up too. "Old acquaintances." Matias grinned as he filled his gun with gun juice. He shut the bullet compartment, cocked the gun and was ready to let hell loose. She approached his balcony, looking around as he sighted some of his prey. "Let it begin." He mumbled as he fired at them. "Get down!" Sal yelled as they hid in the bushes surrounding the house. "Guys what's up?" Jack was the getaway driver.
