At Matteo’s shoulder. A disabling shot. Risky. Precise. Matteo’s finger tightened on the trigger. Lucian fired. The gunshot split the night. Matteo screamed as the bullet tore through his shoulder, his grip loosening just enough— I dropped, rolling away. Another shot rang out.
