He gags at the last word and holds his fist over his mouth. “And that’s a problem because?” I knit my eyebrows. “Maria makes amazing food.” “It wasn’t no regular lunch.” He burps. “She said I needed somethin’ special to help me find my mate.” “Okay? So… what did she make you?” Bronx closes his laptop, interested now. “Bitter ass chocolate cake.” He takes a deep breath to collect himself. “No sugar.” “Eww.” We all say collectively. “She said a gypsy once told her it helps the eater find someone sweet to balance out the bitterness.”

the butler asks as he places the pitchers on the table. “I am not that familiar with cocktails,” I reply and stare out at the dark pool. “Well… what kind of candies do you like? I can try to recreate it.” I really have to stop and think about it. Lucas didn’t allow me to eat sweets, and I have forgotten what I like. “Uhm… maybe salted caramel, I guess. And Turkish Delight.” Chad nods. “I think I can do something with that.”

They cost about a hundred and fifty bucks for just a packet, and a box of these chocolates contains five packets. I heard it's because they are handmade by the confectioner."
