The gaps between entries got longer and longer, and he complained more and more about all the time he lost to his debilitating moods. The only thing that seemed to lift his spirits was finding a certain specialist bookseller. Matthew had continued to collect rare books on the occult, and he was always looking for book shops to sell the paper he wrote on the ancient forest. This bookseller not only took several copies of his paper, he also sold Matthew a unique grimoire by an unknown author. The grimoire fascinated Matthew, and he made notes on it in his journal. Sally couldn’t understand much of what he wrote, but she found one entry, towards the end of the journal, very interesting:

Not even a stray poetry collection to soften the edges. Every single book had a function. A lesson. A warning. Something political. I guess this is why he’s successful. Matthias has a library too, but it was filled with some political books and novels that Nerissa claimed to love. I didn’t open any of them. I couldn’t. Not because I wasn’t curious, trust that I was. But because I wasn’t sure I’d like what I found. Each title raised more questions than it answered. Why was he so interested in fallen alpha lines? What about golden eyes? Why study dysfunction with such intensity?

“Because we can’t fail.” I lay her down softly on my bed, the bed I'd shared with her just the other night, when we stole into my room for that brief moment. Her skin had acquired the ghastly bluish-grey tone which scares the pants off me, and her breathing was so shallow I had to press my ear to her chest to make sure it was not quietly falling and not rising again. “Light every candle in the room,” Dr. Matthews barked as he opened his medical bag and started removing vials and instruments. "I've got to see what I'm doing.”

He casually picked up the book in front of him but put it back after taking a few glances at the cover. Matthias was following behind Myra, but Heather had a great observation so he had no choice but to hide in a bookstore. To prevent Heather from finding him, Matthias decided to pick out some books. “Huh?” Matthias’s eyes instantly lit up as if he had just found treasure. He quickly picked up the hardcover book with a bronzing side on his left. “‘In-Depth Analysis’, written by Heather Langston. Wow! That woman is omnipotent.”

Alex was in the middle of his study, wincing a little as he tried to take off his jacket when he heard the door open. It was Doc. The only person he trusted with his health.Doc, Mather Andrews, was a skilled medical practitioner who lost his license after a fraud scandal which involved the trafficking of deceased children organs. In retrospect the organs were being taken to other kids whose lives were hanging in balance, in impoverished countries.

She said, “I would have tidied up a little in preparation.” Matthias glanced around the small office, and sure enough it was a right mess. Books and notes scattered everywhere, as well as various glass and vials with funny looking liquids in them littering every available plain surface he set his gaze on. “It’s not too bad.” He mumbled, closing the door as he stepped into the room. “Besides, this isn’t exactly a courtesy call.” He pinned her with a look that was heavy with knowing.

She told me to avoid any Path that would make me come close to Alpha Weston. The Pack Hospital is only a few yards away from the pack house. When I approach it I let out a sigh of relief when I realize that it is at least one of them. Unlike all the other stores and business places that have been closed. There is a sense of deja vu looming over my head. I feel weird and I find myself busting my head upwards looking at the park house. at the top window where Weston’s room was, his window was wide open and he was standing right there on the balcony. His eyes did not leave mine.

She pulled the imp to his feet, "Who are you working for, Matthias?" The glowing eyes regarded Grace with undisguised hatred, "We don't answer to anyone." The other imps shot their leader an odd look, and he nodded, "We'll be out before the night is over." Warren smirked and shook his head, "Then you admit to taking the Codex gigas?" Matthias's eyes went wide, "Whoah man, you are barking up the wrong tree. The only reason why I'd take a book like that is to sell it to the highest bidder."

“ It’s nothing. Just a library book I checked out. By accident. Just a silly mistake.“ Now that was the understatement of the century. “A silly mistake, my behind,” Edith cackled. “The Kama Sutra. The Joy of Sex. Dating for Dummies. The Multi-Orgasmic Couple. The Girlfriend's Guide to Great Sex.” Edith pointed to each of the books as she listed off the titles. Picking up the books, Mattie said, “This is my business. My personal, private business.” “Poppycock.” Edith stood, hands on her generous hips, blocking the door. “If you wanted this to be private, you wouldn’t have brought those books here.“

She did mention that she was going to read that novel… Perhaps it would be impolite to disturb her right now. After all, she shouldn’t be under any heavy stress while preparing for the next treatment phase. Matthew took a step back and went into his study where he placed the briefcase on the bed. He locked the door for good measure and, with trembling hands, opened it. He sat on the edge of the bed, reading through every document with glassy eyes. He stared at the ultrasound photos with an intense gaze, as though trying to burn them into his memory.
