Cerberus entered the tent, shadows clinging to him like smoke. "We'll be there," he said, voice low, fierce. "Whatever the Trial reveals, it won't break you."
I looked past them both to the stars above, to the moon slowly waxing toward full. My breath fogged in the night air.
"It won't break me," I said, voice quiet but iron-clad. "Because it already did. And I survived."
