He backed up, leading her toward the shattered glass wall that overlooked the raging factory floor.
"You are slowing down, Prince," Sylas observed coldly. Her visor flickered with targeting reticles. "Your heart rate is elevated. Your stamina is depleting. The outcome is predetermined."
"You rely too much on your screen, Commander," Tristan panted, feinting left and slipping right.
"Data does not lie."
"No," Tristan smirked, stepping onto the jagged edge of the broken window frame. "But it can be blinded."
Tristan reached into his tactical belt and pulled out a small, spherical object. It wasn’t a grenade. It was a high-intensity flare he had pilfered from the Mammoth’s emergency kit.
