Its chassis was scarred by silver-salt corrosion, and its single searchlight eye swept the room with a frantic, stuttering blue pulse. Kael had abandoned the primary server farm. He had compressed his entire consciousness into the mech’s primitive, isolated processor. He was no longer a ghost in the wires. He was a ghost in the machine. The mech’s metal feet crunched through the silver mercury on the floorboards, leaving deep, jagged gouges in the obsidian. It stopped inches from my throne. The smell of hot grease and sparking wiring filled the stagnant air, clashing with the smell of my own stone decay.

Now let me go find a way to get rid of these urges for the beast, but not the beast’s sister.” Max began walking out mumbling something along the lines of, “can’t live with um, especially when they don’t let you kill the one thing that could ruin our clan.”

Xander pulled the trigger, his bullets landing on the creature's torso with minimal effect on its speed. "Target the areas where the bones meet!" "They have strong armor!" More soldiers emerged in the room, causing chaos as they attacked with precise ruthlessness. Xander battled alongside Maya and Alexei, their joint efforts barely holding back the tide.

Xavier chuckled. “If it's all right with you, I'd like to stay with you until Mr. Turner arrives. He mentioned an hour, but I have a feeling Jack will be here sooner,” the charming man smiled. Three cylindrical weapons jutted out of the right side of the mech's silvery armour, and an angular shield flanked the right side of its body like the wing of a dove. A mighty Korean mech, the Xiezhi, stood before us. It seemed that my past had caught up with me at last. "You've got to be joking," Commander Telbus muttered. I tapped a button on my headset, switching my comms to an open broadcast. It didn't matter that the Americans would hear me, as we'd long since lost the element of surprise.
