Her eyes reached towards a big castle and it looked like she was in a fantasy world or something. Looking at him with a blank look on her face, she noticed he held her hand to start walking. "In medieval times, castles served as a home and fortress of a monarch or noble. This is where I live…" he showed her the magnificent castle and she stood amazed. Through the heavy oak doors of the imposing keep, there is a large chamber filled with rows of guards with armour and colours so flamboyant they almost caught her attention from the piles upon piles of glittering, golden treasure clustered around.

Farell asked. Lucius didn't blame Farell or look down on him for not knowing who Vynobs are. He then turned to him and explained. "In the midlands of Mericos, there are a lot of mythical creatures around there but they also have human forces just like we do but then they have magic. They are very uncivilised because they wouldn't want anyone different from them close. Anyone who tries to go to them will definitely meet death. Vynobs are the most brutal of them. If they shift, they are like the cat but then as the body of a baby dragon. They all are dangerous, especially their King,'' he explained.

I was not prepared for the barrage of medieval facts that were streaming through his thoughts. He was fighting the urge to just tell me literally everything he knew about the medieval times, but he refrained, thinking it would make him sound too nerdy. There appeared to be no labour being undertaken, no industry. They strolled and chatted to neighbours, idly. If these were the common-folk, I felt trepidation at the thought of the grandeur of the nobility in the castle beyond. But I told myself firmly, looking up at my Fae mage, Rivyn was their Prince, and I had been keeping his company for weeks, so surely no courtier would find me lacking if he did not.

“Just tell me where I am!” “Okay then” he then started look serious as he was preparing to tell something. “This is the other world. The Inhabitants of this Land call this world Beaume. Compared to your original world, it is not as advanced and modern as you might expect. It’s approximately about halfway through what your world calls the medieval age. This is the time period of war between dominant countries and war against demon creatures.” He explained. He snapped his left hand, and in an instant, brought a cup out of nowhere. He sipped a little before he continued.

They all look ancient, worn and tattered, and they smell amazing. For a book lover like me, the whiff of old books is like opium to a drug addict. I want to stop a while and explore the bookshelf, but Lyall is pulling me over to the far end of the room. A faded tapestry hangs from a rail on the wall. On it, there’s some sort of medieval scene, showing a dark forest with thin shafts of starlight shining between the trees. Other than that, there’s nothing. No figures, no focal point, nothing in particular to draw the eye.

In a fully fleshed-out fantasy world, there would be mages, warriors, archers, knights, and other combat professions. "They'd be organized, with ranks and systems. Geographically, you'd find sprawling human kingdoms and cities while the wilderness would hold tribes, wandering beasts, monsters, and wildfolk. "Races wouldn't just include humans and beastmen—there'd also be elves, dark elves, dwarves, and many others. But here, it's all lacking. "The third level, with its modern world, was more like my actual Earth. But even then, the whole world only showcased a single city. There were barely any interactive characters. You must've sensed how hollow it felt."

Hayss. [11:58 pm] Sigh. I hope at least I get reincarnated to the modern world again. It was really the most comfortable world I could ever wish to live in. Medieval times were exciting if you are so into adventuring. But what if not? It was just plain boring especially if you were born an aristocrat. No computer games, electricity, series, and shows to watch. And all you could do there was either read or travel. Or even if you were born as a mere commoner, just lighting fire using wood or heating your bathtub was a pain.

The door opened. Down a dim hallway. Velvet curtains. The low thump of music vibrating through the floor. Then the main room. It was larger than she expected—opulent, decadent. Crystal chandeliers casting golden light over red leather booths, a polished bar along one wall, and in the center: a raised circular stage ringed by shadowed seating. People milled about in masks and evening wear, drinks in hand, laughter low and intimate. The air smelled of expensive perfume, whiskey, and something darker—arousal.

nHis mother’s eyes met his, “Your father left this with me the night before he disappeared.” Corey stared at the box, what is inside? She held it tightly. “Something he wanted you to have when the time was right.” Corey’s pulse quickened. His mother slowly extended it toward him and for the first time that evening, the warmth of the family dinner disappeared. Because Corey suddenly realized something. Morgan hadn’t simply disappeared, he had left pieces of himself behind, pieces that were still waiting to be found.
