Medieval Times Books Fiction Novels & Stories

It’s like my own personal heaven. I walk slowly between the rows, dragging my fingers along the spines of the books. Some are new. Some are so old their titles have faded off completely. I find books on werewolf history, on herbs and healing, on the different bloodlines of the kingdom. I even find one that looks like a cookbook, filled with strange ingredients I’ve never heard of. I lose track of time flipping through them, sinking into a worn leather chair near the center of the room. The quiet is peaceful. So different from the chaos outside these walls.

Some books had the history of the Knights, dating back centuries. Others told about different creatures, how they lived, drawings of how they looked, and about how they functioned. Unfortunately, many of them also told about how to kill them, which I didn't really like but I understood how the information must’ve been useful back when you needed to defend yourself from them. We’re protected now, the borders and the guards as well as having emerged into human society. I dragged my hands over a few dusty books and sighed. I didn’t even know where to begin. Which shelf? Color? Which of the hundred books would tell me what I needed to know?
