"Buttercup" While I was getting my books from the locker for the class when all of a sudden I heard my name being called from behind. I turned back only to see my three friends waving at me.

The night before our big offline meetup, my roommate took one look at my internet boyfriend's photo and declared it was a fake. "Using a stolen photo for an online romance? He's definitely insecure and too ugly to show his real face!" The next day, my boyfriend texted: [Sorry, something came up at the last minute. Can you wait half an hour?] I breathed a sigh of relief because I had just been notified about an exclusive expert lecture on campus. Word was, the speaker was an academic powerhouse, and the university had paid a fortune to secure him. I snagged a seat in the front row. But the moment I looked up at the podium, my stomach dropped. Why did this famous scholar look so much like

I told her I didn’t want to go caroling, but if she was on me about it this early in the morning, I wasn’t sure I’d be getting out of it. At the bookstore in the break room where we also locked away our bags, there was a big vase of flowers in the middle of the table with a cute bow tied on it. I smiled at them, thinking that they were so beautiful. They were white carnations with accents of red holly sticking about it. I took a sniff and got curious about who they belonged to. Had the owner’s husband gotten them for her? But if so, they would probably be in her office. I snooped around the vase for a letter, and I found a small envelope sticking in the middle.

Emma smiled cutely “Dad said not to work your brain too hard; They will pick a spot you can’t think of, for catching up.” Helena narrowed her eyes and smiled charmingly at Blossom. “Blossom won’t be a traitor” Blossom ran to hide behind Dan. She couldn’t resist grandma temptation the most! Ben and Dana arrived 15 mins later. “Big bro. Sister-in-law” Ben and Dana called out together although Dana’s voice was barely audible. She was shy. Bryan and Lynda nodded amiably “Come … come… no need for formalities.” “Let’s order dinner” Lynda smiled.

Smiling, I put my hands in my pockets and walk. Stopping, I turn and see it. Grabbing it with my hand, I bring it up and smell it. “Thanks Allorah,” I said aloud as I take the white rose that appeared in my desk with me to my meeting. The End.

"Just promise me you'll be careful, okay? And if you ever need anything, anything at all, don't hesitate to call me." "I promise, Ophelia. Thank you for being there for me," I said, genuine grateful that she cared that deeply about me. "I'll keep you updated on what happens here. And please, take care of yourself too." "You know I always do." I then ended the call. Talking to Ophelia reminded me of something I had entirely forgotten amidst all that had been going on. I reached down to my side and retrieved my satchel bag. Dipping my hand inside, I pulled out the record of Victor Blossom that I had stolen from the Begonia coven library.

'' I chuckle at the end. Emmet joins me, ''What's with you and bumping into people, recently? I'll be there in five.'' He replies and I smile—knowing how he would always be there for me whenever I need him. Dropping my phone back in my purse, ''I'm Rose, by the way.'' I say, giving my hand as I earn a smile from him; seeing that he has a perfect set of dimples which surprises me at the sight of them. ''Elia,'' He replies, shaking my hand.

—You see that if he comes for you, come on, I'll wait for you at home. "Ok, we'll see you there" I say goodbye to my friend and go to where Matt is. "Hi Matthew, how are you?" I ask with a smile trying to calm myself down, I didn't want him to notice how nervous I was. "Hello beautiful," he kisses me on the cheek, "I'm fine." - Cast? What are you doing here? "I came to see you," he takes the bouquet of roses and hands them to me, "they are for you."

"The astrologer said, as soon as you sign here, your stars will immediately align with Charlie's. You… You have to sign… Please." I took the pen without hesitation and signed my name. As I finished the final stroke and lifted my gaze, I met Adrian's venomous gaze. I could see it clearly now—the signs of his decline were written on his face, darker and more defined than ever before. "Claire… Milton… You bitch, how dare you betray me!" he roared. He was about to lunge at me when his body suddenly froze. He clutched his chest, and his face contorted in agony. Then, he coughed up a torrent of crimson blood.

He kissed me back, hard and consuming, as if he could devour the pain right out of me. For a heartbeat, I let myself vanish in that kiss—pretend I was someone else, somewhere else, untouched by betrayal. The next thing I knew, the world blurred—his arm around me, the press of a door closing, sheets tangled beneath my trembling hands. Morning hit like a cruel joke. I woke tangled in unfamiliar sheets, my head pounding, my lips swollen. The stranger from the bar lay beside me, half-covered, the shadows of his muscles stark against the pale dawn light. Even asleep, he radiated danger, power… something I couldn’t name.
