Julie said and walked past them. "See you tomorrow!" Kate and Melvin yelled after her. Julie stopped a cab and got in. The song on the radio touched her heart, particularly the chorus of the song. Julie admired the music, and she could relate to it. "Like a diamond in the dirt, I don't know my value in this life. I kept on trying my best, except it turned into the worst. I don't want to cry, but my heart is aching. Set me free. I need a remedy to help with the pain. Dig me out, dust me off and watch me twinkling in the rain." Julie rests her head on the window and listens to the lyrics of the melody.

She gives him a half smile, “It’s more complicated than just a song. I don’t need to rehearse for it, it’s like my mother’s song. The one at the well. A melody with no words, hers was full of joy, peace and love. Mine is full of pain, sadness and grief. My sisters and I have a name for it, ‘The Well Song’. It’s not something I’m looking forward to.” Kai seems to understand and rests a hand on her shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. She sighs and closes her eyes, keeping the tears at bay. Not yet.

Marrah was so eager to sing first so we just let her be. "This is the first time I'd hear her sing," Joshua muttered when I sat beside her. "Me too," I said. All of us turned silent when the music played and when Marrah started to sing, I automatically glanced at Kayne upon realizing what song it was. It was a song that was saying its goodbye to its first love. A song about acceptance, letting go, and moving on.

"How did you discover Melanie Martinez by the way?" I asked her while driving.

When Gina reached the chorus, her voice lifted gently, filled with longing. 🎵 “If I could turn back time once more, I would love you softer, love you slow.” 🎵 Someone in the audience quietly sniffed. Another lowered their head, memories stirred without warning. The heartbreak in the song became clear. This was not just music—it was a confession. 🎵 “Even if the world forgets your name, My heart will still remember.” 🎵 By the final verse, Gina’s voice trembled slightly, wrapped in sorrow and love. When the last note faded, the hall fell into complete silence.

Meredith sat on one of the park benches, enjoying the tranquillity that felt almost magical. Lucas and Maya came over with some cold drinks and sat down next to her. "This feels... nice," Maya said with a small smile. "I wish I could enjoy more nights like this." Lucas took a sip of his drink. "Me too. It feels strange to be completely relaxed here." You will be the first one who will taste the revenge of a man who's been broken and hurt by your kind. I was still humming the song. I was in my best mood. And unknowingly, I did not notice a pair of eyes that were secretly and carefully checking my every move.
