A whisper in my gut. Something was off. “You’ve been quiet.” I turned. One of the maids, Mira, stood behind me. A gentle soul. Always polite, always watching. Knew that she was not always pure. She was Lysandra's personal maid and though I wanted to fire her at first, I did not have a reason to do so.

I'd expected her to shut this down immediately. "I want you to use her arrogance against her. Morgana thinks she's untouchable right now. She's confident, probably convinced herself that the attack last night can't be traced back to her. She wants to gloat, to see you scared, to rub your face in whatever Kieran's planning next." Miranda smiled. "Let her. And let me turn every word into ammunition for court." Emrys appeared in the doorway, his shoulder bandaged but already healing. The mate bond told me he'd been listening from the hallway.

She mumbled words that could cause the enemies to kneel, burn, and experience tingling pain in their bodies as Emily exerted control over her power over them. Emily’s body was glowing, transforming into a moon goddess, wearing a white dress and a jeweled star on her forehead. “Morsus...” (Pain) “Combustum...” (Burn) “Interficio...” (Kill) Emily was saying those words, and slowly, the grunts and roars of the hunters and rouges were subsiding. Her eyes darted at the King and Queen of Rouges. Her eyes were dangerous and made her shudder.

Suddenly, Nyx stirred hard in my chest, letting out a low sound I had never heard from her before. I was almost terrified. Instead, my body leaned toward him, starving for the touch of so many months of nothing but the growl, his strict face and silence. His deep blue eyes—nothing like the shining eyes of the Silver Sword Pack, fixed on mine. They reminded me of the old glaciers, clear and dangerous. “Who… who are you?” My voice came out rough and cracked. He smiled, slow and sure, as if he had been waiting for this moment his entire life. One large hand was tracing the curve of my hip with full calm.

Elsabet queried, her lips twisted in doubt and voice still rough as she leaned forward. “My Raese Merlinus, or Merlin, as many have called him. Was the mightiest lover I’ve ever known. He stole my heart and has kept it in the palm of his hand ever since. When I close my eyes I can still see his face. When I listen carefully, I hear his voice in my mind. When I yearn for a man’s touch, it’s only his I crave. He’s my everything.” “Yearn for a man’s touch…” Elsabet turned it over like a foreign phrase. “I never thought I’d ‘yearn for a man’s touch’...”

I curiously asked as all I could see were nothing but smoke and fire. “You’re still in my house, Emir.” Merlin devastatingly replied. “What happened?” “You tell me?” He was looking at my lower part. I immediately looked down as was completely shocked I am totally naked and felt abashed as I covered my private parts with my bare hands. “What do you mean? I don’t know. I am not here, remember?” “You’re not here but your body shifted into a gigantic fox and all your tails stretching out blazing.” Merlin was truly an expert on magic as with just one flip from his finger, the house gets back to normal and I got my clothes back.

Alexis was standing in the Terminus looking at the Departure Board and frowning, ‘Why the fuck does she want to go to Cornwall? He wondered out loud turning to Morgana, ‘Alexis, do you not know your history of England? Have you never heard of King Arthur and the Great Warlock Merlin?’ Alexis shook his head smiling, ‘Are you going to give me a history lesson now Morgana?’ He chuckled and she frowned back at him not amused,

But didn’t she understand there were bigger things at stake? “Say Merlia and Mordred can help. We open that can of worms but then what happens? In the end we’re opening old wounds, I want to believe in Merlin I do because there’s no way Merlia and Mordred are evil even though others view them as such. They are smart and kind but we have nothing to go on” Anberine stressed as she ignored the looks of her friends and stared Skye down as he stood up and took a few steps until they were face to face.

Lord Bayan sighed and folded his arms, waiting for the story to unfold. Uncle continued, "Ciel, the witch of Emrin, cajoled the powers of the Ember when she was just nineteen. Young and foolish. Her reign of terror didn't last long, though. Thorian the Great trapped her in the Iorwerth with his knights, soldiers, and dragons. He executed her there. All those armies and beasts for one person. It shows how powerful she was. But before Ciel died, she cursed Iorwerth, her burial ground."

I’m sorry I made you cry a few times while reading, but I made it up to you with a happy-ish ending. You may recognise Merlin from the legends about King Arthur, but this story is more closely related to the Merlin series with Colin Morgan and Bradley James. I’ve always loved the show and made this story with it in mind. I threw in a few Easter eggs from the show into it, so I wonder if you can spot them all. With your big brain, you probably can :) Hint: Eggs are mostly in dialogue, descriptions, and names ;)
