Joe looked weak, like he had just gone through a couple of major surgeries. But he hadn't! Dom knew he hadn't! The side effects were clear. He had seen them very closely a millennium ago. This was how the Shifter-to-Human Serum or SHS worked. He had seen his mother go through this painful transformation and death of her inner dragon that old Joe was going through now, very closely. Now he was sure someone had tempered with his little getaway with his mate and Dominic McBlaze was more than pissed. He quickly mind-linked his beta and delta and brought old Joe to lay on the couch in the living room where his unconscious Iris lay.

**************************** Lena's POV We had just arrived in time to save Joey; we got to her cave and saw her lying almost lifeless on the ground of her cave. I could see that something dark was eating her deep inside. 'Was this an evolving?' I asked myself I could see the dark magic visibly slowly eating her from the inside, but I didn't know what to do about it; I just stood there shocked; I was surprised at the new upgrade of my powers. While I was lost in thought, Joey immediately took my hands and placed them on her chest.
