I will go undercover too. “I can’t Sphinx. Some security is with us here. I can see the chopper coming too.” She said. “I’ll do it myself.” I said and changed my clothes to a sexy outfit. I’m wearing red lingerie. I covered my face with a black half mask and colored my lips in red. “Are you sure you can do it?” Sphinx asked.

I made sure that would not happen. I found Marcus early in the evening and cornered him in a dark hallway. I offered a simple trade. His distinctive silver wolf mask for my plain black one. He laughed thinking it was just party fun and swapped without asking questions. With his mask now covering my face I looked enough like him in the dim lighting. Same height. Same build. The mask hid everything else.

The music was quieter inside the glass lounge, though still loud. Everything was polished and sleek. He was there. Diego Roderigo sat in a leather booth, drink in hand. His navy suit looked expensive and perfect. The dim light caught his face—sharp features, cold eyes, and a thin scar. His presence filled the room.

Or was it the eerie way he moved—fluid, confident, yet silent, like a phantom materializing out of the dim glow of the chandeliers? Now that he stood close enough, Evelyn could study the details of his mask. It was an intricate piece, covering his entire face, adorned with black and gold gemstones that glinted under the light. But it was the mouthpiece that truly sent a chill down her spine—carved with sharp, exaggerated teeth, as though mocking the very notion of civility.

Victor took it without comment, examining the half-mask of burnished gold and obsidian. It was crafted to resemble a death's head—not garish or Halloween-like, but subtle and elegant, with empty eyes that would reveal nothing of the man beneath. A gasp escaped my lips as the light shone on Nana, seated on a chair in the middle of the large room, her mouth gagged and fear written all over her face. A man, dressed in black and in a black mask stood behind her with a gun to her head. "No!" I whispered as I looked on. "So this is the knight in shining armor?" A voice came from my right and I almost jumped out of surprise. There was another man dressed like the first man, sitting on a chair to my right. "Who are you and what do you want?" I asked angrily. "I just want what is mine." His voice was so calm as he spoke. It was eerily calm, like he had done it numerous times, and taken the lives of some unlucky few.

I was stunned. The man in front of me wore a mask that covered half of his face. His golden eyes sparkled like stars in the darkness. His eyes were dark and cold. Although half of his face was obscured by a silver mask, the other half was as perfect as a picture of Vincent van Gogh's starry night sky.

Edward sighed as he accepted the fact that he had to explain his identity when Andrea burst out in tears. "My head hurts so much and I feel so cold. Everyone hates me…" Andrea cried as she held her head. Edward used this time to wear his masquerade mask before walking towards her. "Stay calm and go take your bath. I called a doctor to take care of you." He said as he sat beside her. *What's the use of wearing the mask when she already saw your face?* He asked himself, but disregarded it to focus on persuading her to take her bath.

She covered her mouth, gasping in horror at the jagged scar that stretched across my cheek and jaw. But he was," he says. He gets up, and the air moves for him, like a wave. "He is near now," I think. He must be close enough that I can smell the metal on his skin. It has a biting, almost awkward smell that conflicts with the warmth of his body.
