I ran towards the trail we were tracking, unable to contain my excitement and stay quiet. After I realized this, I calmed myself down and focused on tracking the deer. When I found the deer, it was eating grass unaware of my presence in the grass and I checked to make sure my scent wasn`t blowing towards my prey. Afterwards I rolled around in mud to completely cover my scent. I made a fatal mistake though in underestimating my prey. When I finally brought it down, I was covered in cuts from its antlers.
