He looked curiously at me. "As ready as I'm ever going to be." I mused. My warriors murmured in the background as I focused on making my way towards the heart of the territory. I felt Alastor's eyes prying into the side of my head. I knew he was trying to figure out what had happened before he arrived. Three wolves appeared on the road. A molasses color wolf, a pale ginger wolf with a white underbelly, and a gray wolf with black accents. The molasses wolf growled and stepped in front of the other wolves. This must be the baby beta.

The village of the western pact welcomed them with open paws. Alpha Mera was a wolf of considerable years, her muzzle silver, her eyes a pale green that held both warmth and a sharp, assessing intelligence. She had ruled the settlement for two decades, maintaining the ancient wards that had kept the Blight at bay while the world beyond her valley crumbled. When Lira's column descended through the wildflowers, Mera met them at the village edge with a contingent of her own wolves — not as a threat, but as a greeting. Shy, quiet and head always buried in her books. *Poor girl," someone in the row in front of me whispers. “I heard Jessica heard her telling one of her friends that she has a crush on Kaeren." Oh so she's a worshipper of the asshole as well! Too bad! Both of them shift into their wolves, Jessica's a medium sized brown wolf with brown eyes, and Emory’s a grey wolf with green eyes. “Begin!" The professor calls out.

“You could end it, you know. Pick a winner. Let them live.” I snort. If only it were that easy. “Find me one who can last past the third sunrise, and maybe I’ll consider it.” Her presence flickers in front of me, like a whisp of smoke. “You’ve gone soft. I can smell it on you.” “Must be your imagination. The only thing soft here is the ground after the corpses hit it.” She chuckles and fades, leaving the back of my skull blessedly empty. I straighten, scanning the new arrivals. A witch crying into her hands. Two wolves are already posturing for dominance. A human, brave or stupid, probably both, trying to look like she belongs. Typical.

All the warriors were conditioned to live life as if they were in active battle so they moved without urgency or fear as we embarked on one of the greatest journeys of our pack. “Let’s end this,” I said. He followed behind me as we went to where the others were gathered. There were over two hundred wolves that would start the operation and we had several backups, all of whom would come after us. We would devastate Blood Moon hard and fast. I shifted. My senses sharpened. The ground underneath quivered with the paws of so many wolves moving at once in the same direction. Blood Moon didn’t know we were coming. Not yet. By the time we got to the borders, their soldiers were just changing shifts

Chapter 114: The morning’s light broke over the battlefield with a fierce intensity, as if the sun itself had risen to witness the final act of this bitter conflict. The Blue Moon Pack’s defenses, though battered by the relentless assaults of the exiled werewolves, still held firm. Another roar rumbled the Earth but this time it was not what sucked the life out of me. The men in front of my eyes had turned into monsters. Unnatural and terrifying big wolves. Not wolves... these wolves stood up like humans. "Oh, my Lord! Make it a delusion." I mumbled as my wits left me. The monster-cum-Jordan eyes fell on me when I tried to make an attempt at life. He snatched me up by the waist in his claws. "God, let it be a dream! Please!" I took a breath in to shout my heart out as my last ditch effort before death when another scream breached the cruel forest.
