Caitlin dove into the book, scanning through, turning the pages as fast as she could, looking for any mention of vampires, of how to heal or cure one, how to bring one back to normal life. Victor added with a creepy smile, "With your teeth," Oh God, Mimi went pale, her eyes widening to the size of the moon. This can't be happening. She tried to run, but it seemed like her feet were stuck to the ground and she couldn't make a move. Victor's creepy laughter increased and he announced, "Say Ahh," bringing his throbbing member to her mouth that opened on its accord without her willing it. "No, no, no!" Mimi shouted, shaking her head vigorously. She didn't want to do this. What was she? A cannibal? Of all things to eat, why his member?

"Mom, I found something." The room got tenser. Mimi's heart raced because she didn't know what new danger was waiting for them. Simeon went ahead with a leather-bound book that looked old in his hands. I found this under the floorboards in my room. It wasn't visible. Mimi's eyes were transfixed to the diary, and she felt fear deep inside her. She took the book from him, and her fingers brushed against the thin leather. This moment felt too heavy to ignore; something was wrong with it.

Fourteen mimics stood arranged in rows — not hiding, not ambushing. Posing. Hands folded. Eyes closed. Dressed in outdated Lancaster command uniforms from two decades prior. Solin muttered, “What the hell…” Riven stepped forward. The moment their foot hit the center of the atrium tile, all fourteen mimics opened their eyes. Then, in a unified voice: “Welcome home, Director.” Riven froze. “I’m not your Director.” The mimics blinked in unison. “We remember the thread. We remember her blood. You are derivative. We respond to your presence.”

Mimie walked towards the arranged chairs and sat on one of the empty seats,she rolled her eyes as she listened to the boring speeches by some of the authors who took turns talking about their books. Mimie found all of this time wasting as it delayed her from achieving her purpose. “Finally!” Mimie said as she heard one of the authors open the booking signing. The authors made their way to their various signing booths.Mimie beingsa cunning lady made her way past some people and stood right in front of Rio at his signing booth. Rio sighed as he looked her straight in the face. “What would you like to sign?” He asked dryly as he removed his gaze from her.

Xves murmured, “It won’t attack until it completes the first read. But the moment it copies your emotional baseline it will strike.” “Meaning what” Liam asked. “Meaning she can’t panic,” Xves said. “If she does the mimic will take that as approval to attack.” Aleksander muttered, “She’s already panicking.” The mimic moved again but this time it wasn’t mirroring. It reached out. Its hand lifted just a little. Like it was testing the distance. Liam stepped into its path before I could move. “Touch her and I break you in half.” The mimic didn’t look at him. It only stared at me. Like Liam’s body wasn’t even there. Like nothing mattered except the command it had been given.
