The figure didn’t answer, but her eyes glowed, fierce and full of sorrow. "The book gives," she said, voice distant like a forgotten song, "but it also takes. Every power has a cost. Choose your path wisely, Mira. Not all victories come clean." Before I could reach her, the vision shattered. I gasped, falling back into myself, the clearing around me spinning. I was drenched in sweat. The book lay closed beside me, still glowing softly. I should have been afraid. But I wasn't. Instead, I was furious.

I laid there for an hour before Gerald ordered his men to take me to the hospital. “She had a miscarriage. She needs all the rest she can get”. From my sleep, I heard the doctor’s voice. I opened my eyes and checked out for Gerald, luckily, he was nowhere in the room. It was my savior, Harrison. He looked disturbed as he spoke with the doctor. The doctor walked out and I slowly whispered his name, “Harry”. He held my hand softly and almost had tears in his eyes. “Mira, I am sorry. Gerald sent me here. I can’t believe he did this to you” he apologized.

"It's blank." Everest took the book, his expression puzzled. "Really? That's strange." I reached out, gently taking the book from Everest's hands. As I opened it, the pages sprang to life, filled with an intricate tapestry of spells, potions, and ancient magical knowledge. "What the..." Brent's eyes widened in surprise. "It's not blank," I murmured, awe coloring my tone. "It's full of information." Miranda leaned in, her fingers tracing the elegant script. "This is incredible. Mira had thought the book had been destroyed along with many of their possessions that were destroyed after the fight.

I began with the history, eager to uncover clues about what might come next. There was an unusual energy about the book—it seemed… alive.
