Miranda’s eyes widened completely. “Oh my God.”

No one knew how to speak into a miracle. Marianne cupped the baby’s cheeks with shaking hands, staring at her daughter like she was something holy. The kind of miracle you only witness once in a lifetime. She didn’t yet know how close she came to losing her. That truth came from the least expected voice. A small figure walked forward.
