From damped to Mrs billionaire
Lilian Roseforth POV
The air was still, carrying the soft scent of jasmine from the bushes along the garden wall. The sun had dipped below the rooftops, painting the sky in gentle shades of amber and violet, and the first fireflies were beginning to flicker low over the grass.
Gabriel knelt before me, holding out that simple silver ring—no glitter, no show of wealth, just smooth, honest metal. His expression was open, unguarded, waiting. There was no trace of the proud, guarded man he had once been, nor of the gentle stranger who had hidden behind a false name years ago. This was the man he had become: humble, sincere, stripped of all pretense.
