Second chance at happiness

Second chance at happiness

Jack extended his hand “You sleep for a little longer till Martin comes.” “I can’t sleep anymore.” Mira pouted; She was wide awake. She gave Jack the robe “but I just thought of something I forgot.” “Pretend I am sleeping.” Mira whispered, “I am going to space.” “Um” Jack nodded and walked out of the house with the robe and soap that Mira passed him. Mira walked into space and admired her work narcissistically before turning the robe and embroidering a miniature of their signature, blue and golden-yellow-red phoenixes. This was the first time they gave color to their signature. Both phoenixes had their magnificent wings opened in flight rising above the ground, one fire and the other from ic

Cold As My Heart

Cold As My Heart

"Lira left flank!" Lira didn’t hesitate. She dove, rolled, fired. The first creature dropped with a screech, but two more replaced it instantly. “I counted seven pods,” she hissed through gritted teeth. “We’ve got a swarm incoming.” Dr. Vale backed toward the wall, his face pale. “You don’t understand, Mira didn’t just alter their physiology. She erased everything that made them human.” “No,” Mira corrected, voice honeyed. “I freed them.”

The Rejected Alpha

The Rejected Alpha

The giant Miracle was something new. Killian’s wolf roared. There was a look on his face. He was stunned. That’s when Miracle spotted her frame in the shards of broken window glass. Her body was so huge that Killian’s wolf could be crushed underneath her paw. The roof was gone already. The basement was destroyed. The iron bars were scattered over the ground like dead little sticks. Miracle’s eyes didn’t shine. There wasn’t any blue anymore. It was fading. It was changing. Her eyes turned red.

A Love Rewritten in Lavender

A Love Rewritten in Lavender

For a moment, I thought I heard familiar footsteps. The scent of lavender drifted through the air. I opened my eyes. A familiar figure was walking toward me through the sea of purple flowers. She wore a wedding dress. Sunlight wrapped around her as she stopped in front of me. "Mister, my name is Leah Lambert. It's nice to meet you." The wind stirred. It felt like time itself was turning a page. I reached for her hand. "My name is Wystan Wren. I've known you for a long time."

THE ARCHIVISTS PAWN: REBIRTH OF THE BURIED QUEEN

THE ARCHIVISTS PAWN: REBIRTH OF THE BURIED QUEEN

I whispered. I blew my brass whistle, the one marked The King’s Shadow. I didn't call for a shortcut this time. I used the power I had been practicing for three years. I reached into the "Footnotes" of the world and pulled out a Parenthesis. A curved wall of golden light materialized around us, a protective bracket that the Crow's scissors couldn't penetrate. "Mina, now!" I yelled. "Rewrite the well! Give the village a reason to stay!" The First Revision

Pact of Blood

Pact of Blood

The true enemy was the inertia of their own suspicion. She closed her eyes, ignoring the chaos, and focused on the center of the Great Mirror. She saw its structural layout—a weave of complex, ancient geometries. If she couldn't break the mirror, she would rewrite it. She thrust her hands into the black fluid, ignoring the searing pain as it burned her skin. She didn't just push; she injected her own will into the archive’s code. She tore at the logic of the forest, weaving a new reality, one that demanded a new stage.

Fractured

Fractured

She felt the pulse of life again, fragile but real, trembling in her hands. But the corruption surged back. Black veins spread like cracks across the leaves, the color shriveling, fading back to grey. The little tree shuddered once, then sagged. The fragile green was snuffed out, as though mocked for its brief defiance. A sob tore from Mirra’s chest. It was not the gentle weeping of grief but a guttural, broken sound wrenched from her soul. Her magic recoiled, raw and spent, leaving her trembling with weakness.

The Reluctant Alpha and His Sassy Queen

The Reluctant Alpha and His Sassy Queen

“Relax. She’s not worth the energy. I’m just happy you’re back, Mira.” Mira blinked, her expression softening for the first time. “You missed me?” “Like hell I did,” Scarlet said sarcastically, but her tone cracked. “The room was too damn quiet without you.” Mira chuckled ... that wicked, carefree sound Scarlet had missed so much. But then something strange happened. The bruises that painted Mira’s skin ... the ones that looked deep, fresh, painful ... began to fade. One by one, the angry welts melted away, leaving her skin smooth and flawless.

First Bite

First Bite

The mirror darkened, and the memory trembled as if caught in the grip of fate. Then, with a quiet intensity, Mirabella whispered, “Then let her hate me. But let her live.” In that fleeting moment, the mirror shattered. Autumn gasped, a wave of cold air crashing over her as she was cast back into reality, stumbling into the physical confines of her attic once more. The mirror was now a cracked mosaic, fissures splitting it into chaotic patterns, reflecting a kaleidoscope of her astonished features. The pendant had ceased its rhythmic pulse. Yet, as she looked down at her hand, it shone with a faint, silvery glow; a sigil marked her palm, a branding of destiny she had never encountered before.

Alpha's Unloved Luna

Alpha's Unloved Luna

I stuttered, my words forming a question at the end, unsure if I made the right guess. “Where are my manners? I should have introduced myself first, shouldn’t I? My name is Selene, and yes, I am the Moon Goddess, the creator of your kind.” She replied with the same gentle smile. “I am sorry, I didn’t know.” I replied, bowing my head respectfully. “I just never thought I would meet you like this,” I added. I was sure my face must have turned red from embarrassment by now. “You have nothing to apologize for, Miracle. But I think it is now time for you to return.” She said her words made me stop in my tracks. I don’t think I am ready to go back just yet.

Midnight Shines
Dear readers, I'm so sorry for not being able to update for so long. I've been going through a lot in my personal life and wasn't able to focus on writing. I'm working on the new chapters and I promise the updates will start in a week. Thank you so much for loving my book and being patient with me.

Miracle is an appropriate name for her. It is a miracle that she survived to her 18th birthday. What puzzles me is why her parents didn't stop her older sister from torturing her since she was 8. It will probably be better explained farther ahead. All this and more, hints for a puzzling story.
