"You look better today. How are you feeling, Mira?" "I feel great," I answered disinterestedly. "Are you going somewhere, Mildred?" "No! Why do you ask?" her brow twitched in confusion. "You are all dressed up like you are going somewhere," I scanned her face. "No, nothing. I just felt like dressing up today," she said, avoiding my gaze. I closed the door behind me. Her room was very hot like she was cooking something. The smell of strong herbs hit my nose, turning my stomach. I gagged from the effect. As wolves, our sense of everything is way more amplified than humans.

Tears welled up, streaming down her face as she took in the familiar surroundings. Sitting on the edge of her bed, Ezra surveyed the room. It was frozen in time, each element meticulously placed, as if she had left just yesterday. The tidiness of the room mirrored her younger self's preferences. She doesn’t show any reaction but simply states; “I can’t think of anything relating to that, CC?” Myah looks towards her sister for a further response,

I shoot back, not liking the idea of her pitying me. “ Here. ” Miranda’s voice appears from beside my head and I blink my eyes, finding her face coming before me. “ Take this and read. ” Miranda waves an old looking book in front of my face and drops it on my chest, causing me to howl in pain. “ Bloody Witch! ” I curse at her, almost throwing the book away, but she disappears before I can do that. A poof and the witch is gone. I grab the book from over my chest and inspect the leather cover by turning it around. There is a wolf engraved in the leather on the front. The book looks and smells too old.

The earth glowed faintly beneath her feet and at its center… a mirror. Not made of glass. It wasn't truly solid. It shined… a surface of water, reflectionless, rimmed by roots that curled like fingers around it. Crystal stepped forward. Her mark flared. Then, the mirror rippled She saw, Flashes. A child born under a blood moon. A flame hidden in a wolf’s skin. Elira’s hand, outstretched over a crib. A whisper; “This one. This is the one who will open it.”

Her eyes seemed to bore into her own reflection as she spoke, "Do you think he is on to us?" The mirror seemed to ripple, like the surface of a pond, and then Mrs. Iyama's reflection responded, its voice low and menacing. "That fool didn't suspect a thing." But it was clear that this was not Mrs. Iyama speaking; her reflection had taken on a life of its own, revealing a dark, demonic presence lurking beneath the surface.

It wore clothes similar to what I'd worn the day I transmigrated into Camryn's body. "What is that?" Fabian breathed. "A Mirror Entity," I said, though I had no idea how I knew the term. One of the absorbed functions must have included classification knowledge. "It manifests as a reflection of whoever it's targeting. Copies their form, their abilities, sometimes their memories." The Mirror Entity that wore my face smiled. When it spoke, it used my voice. "Hello, Lucille. Or do you still prefer Camryn?" Nobody moved. Nobody breathed. "I prefer to not talk to things that pretend to be me," I said finally.

There where now books with titles such as The Witch Within You, Herbs and Pentagrams, Spells and the Sabbaths, True Magic in the World. Maddie had never noticed that there were so many books on that subject. She was shocked when Omem suddenly stood in front of her. ‘Are you coming, child? Lunch is ready.’ Maddie nodded and left the library.

POV: Afnan The chamber trembled violently. The walls of the Mirror Gate cracked and warped, flickering between reality and nightmare. My reflection hovered a few feet away, eyes sharper, movements more fluid, a perfect imitation of me, yet everything about it screamed danger. I staggered backward, barely catching myself as the floor rippled like water. My reflection smirked, a cruel twist of my own lips, and raised a hand. Instinct screamed at me to strike, to destroy it. But something deep inside whispered: You can’t fight yourself. Not here. Not now.
