Ma always orders Caffe Latte which is a mixture of espresso and steamed milk sweet while she ordered Jeanne a very opposite taste from hers, Cappuccino which boasts a much stronger espresso flavor. I sat patting my other side which was empty. She glanced at me, then Stacey and sat beside me. I smiled at her. The waiter came and started taking our orders. Brandon, Kevin, Candice, and Jane ordered Americano. Mia, Stacey and Jordan ordered latte. I ordered Cappuccino and Grace ordered Mocha. For snacks we ordered some croissants, cheesecakes and some cookies of different flavours.

Shit, what is that yellow thing below? "Ahm, you have to shake it. The honey is in the bottom." Suddenly, Nate promised me. I looked at him. Is my face that obvious for him to notice? "Ahh... I forgot they don't put honey in this in Manhattan." I answered that although the truth is, I have no idea if it has honey or not. "They always put honey on Macchiato!" Misha squealed in my earpiece. Extra shot.” “Knew it.” I ordered his drink and a black coffee for myself, throwing in two breakfast sandwiches without asking. Lucas gave me a side-eye. “You didn’t have to—” “Relax,” I said lightly. “Consider it a peace offering for dragging you out here.” After a few minutes of silence as we waited for our orders , he turned off the song at the point where Harry styles sang ‘They take you for granted.’

A few minutes later, we pull into a McDonald's drive-thru. "Why are we here?" I ask, confused. "Isn't it obvious?" he replies. A server leans out from the window. "Good afternoon. What would you like to order?" Levi looks at me. "What do you want?" "A double cheeseburger and fries," I reply. "And an iced latte too," I add as an afterthought. It might be late in the afternoon, but there's never a wrong time for coffee. Plus, I missed my usual morning cup of coffee. I was feeling quite nauseous, and the strong smell of coffee only seemed to make it grow worse. Hopefully, that won’t happen again tomorrow.

Jason hustled back to the espresso machine, steaming milk and pouring shots. He returned quickly, balancing the tray. “Here you go, these are our top sellers. But I'd say the latte's the star.” He slid it forward, fingers brushing the table near Wyatt's hand. “Popular means it's good, right? I'll take that one to go.” Wyatt's tone was casual, but there was an undercurrent, something commanding that hit me like a gut punch. His voice did crazy things to me, and I loved it.

Emmett, standing off to the side, let out a sigh and did not bother to clarify. "My dad's never been fond of you. Couldn't you at least try to win him over? "What did he even say that was wrong?" The waiter thrust the piping hot water into my hands. My fingers reddened with the burn. Determined not to miss my next flight, I gritted my teeth against the heat and passed the cup to him in full view of the crowd. "Mr. Stewart, enjoy your drink." Marvin gave a satisfied grunt, took a sip, and then, without warning, doused me with it.

No confrontations. No public stunts. No revenge. I gave him the answer he wanted. “I’ll behave.” He looked unconvinced. At home, I changed clothes, poured a drink, and opened the private phone I used for Luke Grey. There were two new messages from Missy. The first was a photograph of a tray of uneven pastries.
