Beth eyed the dessert appreciatively. Cole beamed at Jenny. "That's my girl. You should see the fancy cupcakes she does for showers and stuff." "What kind is it, Jenny?" Alicia asked. "It's chocolate ganache," Jenny answered, blushing. "It's not nearly as complicated as you'd think."

“They’re perfect. Just like you.” “I’m glad you like them. I burned the first batch.” I grab the tray while Anya makes coffee, and before I set the cupcakes down on the coffee table, I pop another one into my mouth. I look at my mother. “I missed your honey cake with pineapple.” “I’ll make one as soon as I’ve unpacked.” Anya comes into the living room and places the tray down beside the cupcakes. “Help yourselves. I didn’t add sugar and cream.” Mama pats the cushion beside her. “Come sit.”

Chapter Fourteen Khloe Anderson Using icing, I designed what was the last of one hundred and twenty cupcakes I'd baked earlier, and placed it in its rightful box. It was Friday- Logan grandmother's birthday. I'd decided to prepare two dishes for the meal which I could only guess is a three course meal. The dishes I chose were scalloped potatoes and chicken enchiladas. And for dessert, I prepared different flavored cupcakes each with their unique icing design, and brownies which would be best served with vanilla ice cream and syrup.

He urged us. Min Jun stretched his hand and picked up a cupcake. "What flavor?" he asked. "Chocolate," The man said. "Nice," Min Jun said and took a bite, it looked so creamy and soft and I wanted a taste too, I stretched my hand and picked up a cupcake. "vanilla," he said. I bit into it and met vanilla fillings in the middle, "This is perfect," I said with my mouth full of food.

I can't be this way when I have an important client to attend to in an hour. I dig into the paper bag to find two boxes inside. Opening the first one, as mentioned, there are two cupcakes that is my favorite flavor. But they're in green color as she called it ‘green velvet’, fit for a Hulk. Halfway through the first cupcake, I open another box wondering if they are also the same as this or a different kind- the one I've always preferred which is the ‘red’ velvet. But my munch stops at the sight of a silk eye mask. Fuck.

Me: can’t wait for you to get home Kennedy: on my way I inform our guests Kennedy will be here soon. We place the cupcakes arranged like a cake in the center of the table. Half the cupcakes have pink and the other half have blue centers. The baker placed the cupcakes tightly together, forming a circle. A giant black question mark adorns their white icing tops. I never saw a cupcake-cake until the bakery showed it to me this week. It is perfect. It looks like a cake, but the cupcakes can easily pull apart and consumed.

God, we all were. In the span of a minute, Kel is back to her cheery self. “Hey, stop pouting. I’m good. Let’s eat!” she says, looping her arm through mine. We sit at a nearby table and she dishes out over large cupcakes with vanilla, lemon, and chocolate frosting on them. My stomach growls in appreciation. “Oh, yes,” I say, then bite into the nearest one.

They were masterpieces. I spent hours last night working my way into the early hours of the morning. Is it classed morning at like 2am? Anyway. A chocolate cupcake, with some pastel pink buttercream icing and a chocolate drizzle, because I mean who doesn't like chocolate. And lastly... a chocolate strawberry. And now.... one has just gone and been destroyed by my best friend's mouth. "What? I haven't had my breakfast yet." She shrugs innocently, and quickly consumes the remaining cupcake.

Their taste buds could be completely different. Still… Who the hell doesn’t like chocolate? They’d have to be abnormal not to. But then again, weren’t they already abnormal? Fuck it. If they didn’t eat them, I would. And honestly, Dad alone could probably finish the entire batch himself. A laugh almost escaped me at the thought. I mixed the batter, poured it carefully into the cupcake molds, sprinkled chocolate chips over the top, and slid the tray into the oven. By the time the cupcakes were baking, the soup was finally ready too.

I said and about to rise from my chair. “It’s fine. You can sit here. I am going. I came here to give Mama her bracelet which she gave me for repairing.” He said and handed her a jewellery bag. “Massimo, taste these cupcakes. I and Ella made them together but she did most of the work. It’s her speciality.” Mama said offering him cupcakes from the tray. He looked at them and then threw me a brief glance. “You know I don’t consume sugar but they look very delicious so I can make exception today.” He said picking up a cupcake from the tray and took a bite. He closed his eyes to savour the taste. Surprisingly, I waited for his reaction.
