He stares into my eyes before saying, “I’m your mate, and I should protect you.”
“Okay, I promise you,” I mutter and hug him. Someone coughs behind me.
“I think you guys are forgetting something,” June smirks. I forgot we are outside, and June is here.
“What is it?” I ask in a low voice.
“How could you easily forget your best friend?” she asks. “I need to find my mate to hug as well. I see someone here has abandoned her best friend because of her mate.”
“Hmm! I can smell jealousy in the air,” I tease her. “Someone here is jealous.”
