Fated love
“Strange, huh? That’s all you call it?”
She laughed softly. “What should I call it, then?”
He thought for a moment. “Fate,” he said, and his tone was so calm, so certain, that she felt her heart flutter painfully.
Claire turned away again, hiding the small smile tugging at her lips. “You’re impossible,” she murmured.
“And you,” he replied, eyes glinting, “are dangerous when you smile like that.”
Her breath caught. He had a way of saying things that felt like confessions disguised as teasing, and she didn’t know how to defend herself from it.
