I’m shocked when the door on that room bang opens. I heard my mother screaming to stop someone I didn’t see. I peeked through the small hole in the cabinet to see what is happening outside. My eyes widened when I saw how they kill my mother using their fangs and talons. They are hairy, with red eyes, fierce fangs, and large bodies of monsters. My world stops when I saw my mother was bathing in her blood to the floor. I feel weak at what I witnessed. I was even more surprised that the two monsters have become human beings. I saw one of them approached the cabinet where I was hiding, and it surprised me when he opened it. He was smiling at me.

By the time I reached her room, he was already there, sitting on her bed. Elara was sobbing, clinging to his t-shirt with a death grip. "The monster.” She wailed, burying her face in his neck. "The monster was in the closet!" I leaned against the doorframe, watching. Usually, a parent would say, 'There are no monsters.' Dante didn't lie. "Shh." He soothed, rubbing her back with his large hand. "I know, Ela. Monsters are scary." "He had big teeth!" She cried.

I was more than eased and pushed her willingly to go back as to not miss her morning classes. With that, I was quite relieved and decided to take a shower. I came out wearing nothing more than a towel I headed straight for my closet, when I noticed that my door was ajar, I went and closed it when my closet door swung itself open. I wanted to scream but I froze. With the yell trapped in my throat. I saw someone walk out of the closet. Eric! He walked slowly to my side and whispered in my ear, "Didn't you look like a beautiful toy tonight?" sending shivers down my spine. No, No... This couldn't be happening again.

From the big bags came some of the dresses like what were in the big closet that Dean stood in the center of with Bunny and Helen. The last time she had been in here, it had been with JD and his girl had cried. Cried so hard that JD had sat on the floor of the big closet with her in his lap. Monster wasn't allowed in the big closet, but he didn't care. He belly crawled to his girl and placed his his big square head in her lap. Today was different. She was still sad, but not as sad as she had been the last time she had been inside the big closet with all the big white bags.

“You’re safe from other monsters.” My quickened pulse returned. “Other monsters? Are you a monster? Is Em?”

I muttered, scared that if the monsters spread how I had come to Raven's room, it'd get to the hearing of both Lucian and Thorne. "Is that what you want?" he asked softly, cupping my face in his cold, steady hands. My eyes reached for his, and I nodded my head. "Alright. I will be right back. Once I talk to them, they won't say a word." With that, he went out of his room. With just one word from him, every monster on the fifth floor came out from their various rooms. Somewhere were vampires, ghouls, and somewhere dragons. I stood by the door, listening to the conversation he was having with them.

His hand lifted, hovered just inches from the handle. If he turned it , if he stepped inside there’d be no undoing it. Not this time. He could finish what they started. Bury himself so deep inside that mouth, inside that want, that for a few hours, he wouldn’t have to think about betrayal and bloodlines and wedding vows. He could forget. But the thing about monsters was they followed you, even after the lights went out. And Rafael already knew, no matter how hard he tried to kill this thing between them, it wouldn’t stay buried.

"No way! I will never marry Dexter! A loser like him could never be worthy of me. I was born to be on top!" She glanced at Mom. "By the way, where's Hazel? Didn't she come back? Well, it makes sense. If I'd married a loser like Dexter, I wouldn't dare either." As soon as she said that, someone called out for Mom. "Mrs. Spencer! Hazel asked me to tell you that she left with Dexter. Don't worry about her." The messenger handed Mom several boxes of gifts and shoved a bulky envelope into her hands before rushing off. When Mom opened it, she found dollar bills inside, which added up to roughly one thousand dollars. The letter inside nearly knocked her off her feet.
