When Draven entered, his boots leaving mud and blood on the floor, Kade didn’t bother to speak first.
“You feel that?” he asked.
Draven’s jaw tightened. “Yes. It’s not rogue magic. It’s old.”
“Old like witch-old?”
Draven shook his head. “Older. Something tied to her.”
“The Luna?”
Draven met his eyes, and for a moment, Kade saw the wolf behind them, red and restless. “The Moon’s chosen don’t just appear without balance. If she carries that light — someone, somewhere, carries its shadow.”
Before Kade could respond, the door flew open. Lux staggered in — bleeding from the temple, eyes wide.
