Rain's mind wondered to the stories of his people and how they originally worked with the covens. There was a time long ago when witches and wolves worked together, witches would sometimes even find themselves mated to wolves through a gift of the moon goddess. But, one of those matings went wrong long ago. A witch named Aster and an alpha from the blood moon pack had become fated mates. But, the witch was sterile and could not have any pups for the alpha.

DJ looked at the man strangely, and it surprised the man that the little wolf didn't know who the Moon Goddess was. “You've never heard of the Moon Goddess?” He asked and DJ shook his head no. “So when your mom shifts, her wolf doesn't speak about the Moon Goddess?” “My mom's wolf?” DJ asked, confused. “Shut your trap, Lucas, the boy's mom's human.
