Chapter 5: MOON SHADOW PACK

I closed my eyes as the blonde tightened his grip on my throat. I could do nothing to stop them. The werewolf law was brutal and unwavering.

I was going to die. I hoped it would be quick. Suddenly, the brunette spoke up. “Wait! Let her go, Robyn.” The blonde growled in response, “She is a rogue, chief!” The brunette replied with authority, “I know, but she appears scared and harmless, let her go.”

Robyn reluctantly let me go, and the wind rushed into my throat.

I fell onto the floor, holding my neck and gasping and coughing.

My neck hurt, and I was sure there would be ugly bruises on them in a few seconds. “Get up!” The brunette commanded.

The other men moved back and he walked up to me. It was pretty obvious who was the leader here. Though the blonde still had a hold on my arm to keep me in place, he wasn't hurting me.

His eyes bore into me and I quickly averted them, looking down. He tilted his head and asked, “You're a lone wolf, aren't you, little one?” I swallowed again, but nodded, keeping my eyes down. He then asked, “For how long?” I squeaked out, “Ten years...” The blonde snorted and the brunette glared at him, causing Robyn to quickly retreat.

He then asked, “What's your rank?” I tried to fight back stubborn tears, which refused to be held back and trickled down my face.

I answered, “O... Omega.” The blonde couldn't help but laugh out now, “An omega? Being a lone wolf for ten.

Years seemed like a pile of nothing to me as I was dragged away by the group of men.

I had been in the park, minding my own business, when the leader of the group barked at me. Everyone else around me kept their heads bowed, not daring to look up at the intimidating figure. He then ordered them to take me to the compound, where I knew I would be interrogated and possibly tortured or raped.

I wanted to scream and run away, but I was helpless and could only be dragged along as they forced me into a black pickup truck with tinted windows. I felt a wave of fear and dread wash over me as I realized that this could be the end of my life.

I was filled with fear as I was pushed into the center of the car while the leader got in from the other side, locking me between Robyn and himself. The other two quickly slid into the front seat and started the car.

I was having a full-blown panic attack and my breathing was heavy and my body was trembling like a leaf. I had to know what they were going to do to me, so I almost whispered, “Where are you taking me?” The leader looked down at me in silence before finally saying, “Moon Shadow.

Heard about it?” He smirked. The moment I heard those words, I knew my fate was sealed. I wasn't fearful anymore, I was terrified. Everyone had heard of the Moon Shadow pack, it was by far the most notorious pack in North America, probably the world.

The Moon Shadow pack was not the largest in terms of territory or numbers, but they were the strongest, with powerful warriors and shrewd business strategies, all led by a ruthless Alpha. They were also ancient, with their history tracing back to the mountains of Scotland or Ireland.

Like many other packs, they moved to the New World to avoid prosecution during the Middle Ages. Whenever they got into fights with other packs, they almost always emerged victorious.

If someone managed to escape unscathed, it was likely because the Alpha of the Moon Shadow pack had decided to show mercy, or simply didn't want to "play" with their opponent anymore.

Fortunately, the Alpha and his pack rarely got into any turf wars, and most of their wars were in self-defense. If they were ambitious, they could have easily taken over half the nation, or at least a few states.

As I stole a glance at the Alpha, I noticed he was taller and stronger than most males from my old pack, even stronger than my Alpha. This thought saddened my already fear-stained heart, as I realized why it was that bad Alphas were always stronger than the good ones.

I glanced out of the window, hoping to find some solace in the beauty of the outside world.

I strongly disapprove of the car moving toward the forest and the Ranger Station. It is irresponsible and dangerous to drive in such a remote area without understanding the risks.

Furthermore, the hidden trail was not suitable for a car and could have caused serious damage to the environment. I am deeply concerned about the lack of respect for nature that this situation demonstrates. We must take more care when exploring our natural surroundings and be aware of the potential dangers.

The huge wrought iron gates opened soundlessly as the car drove through and shut tightly behind them. I was trembling with fear, knowing that I was likely dead if I didn't join the pack. I was so scared that I couldn't even cry anymore.

The men got out of the SUV and Roby grabbed my arm, roughly dragging me out. I winced in pain as a sharp sensation ran through my arm, knowing that I would have yet another bruise to add to the collection. The leader told the dirty blonde driving to park the truck, and he nodded before going to do so.

Rob and Marco followed him into the compound, leaving me to face the fate that awaited me.

I struggled to keep up with the other wolves as they dragged me through the small township. My arms stung with each step, but I had no choice.

I looked around curiously at the quaint homes and buildings, taking in the various scents that assaulted my nose. I saw other wolves in their human or wolf forms going about their daily chores, and they appraised me with curious eyes, sniffing the air.

The scowls and growls from even the pups reinforced my belief that the Moon Shadow pack lived up to its name - they all hated me. I wondered how they would kill me - stone me publicly, or lynch me by a mob? I imagined several scenarios, each more brutal than the previous one.

All too soon, I saw what looked like the manor house of the compound. It was easily the biggest building in the compound, and I assumed it was the Alpha's house.

I didn't get to ponder much as I was quickly dragged through the white marble steps.

I almost tripped before catching myself as the large mahogany doors opened, revealing white and brown interiors.

Robyn pulled me along, not allowing me to take in the details. All I could see were different shades of brown and white. We sharply turned a corner before opening a pair of large wooden doors to an empty study.

The leader growled slightly, causing me to tremble in fear. I was wondering how I was going to get out of this situation when a monotonous female voice appeared behind us. I couldn't help but let out a yelp that I had been holding the entire time. When we turned, I saw her.
