Edeline Outside, the moon had finally risen above the treetops, casting a soft glow that filtered through the leaves, which fluttered and danced in the gentle breeze. Autumn was approaching, its presence evident in the crisp air and falling leaves. The moonlight illuminated my room with a calming, ethereal glow. I stared up at the moon, wishing for healing, hoping for strength. I needed to develop a stronger will. The river, a mirror to the heavens above, reflected the moon's light, creating a serene and mystical ambiance around us. Finding a bar of soap on the side of the tub, I scrub my body and hair until the water is brown instead of pink. I don't linger before I leave, wrap myself in a towel and go to the mirror. Somehow I turn at an awkward angle to see the moon marks on her neck and upper back, but the image of them shocks me. The full moon is at my neck, followed by a waning moon, a waxing moon, and back to a full moon. The marks, similar to the tattoos I've seen the wolves in the pack get, are black ink and slightly raised.
