My ears drooped slightly, disappointed she’d ended the sweet serenade. “Oh, God,” Lilac whispered, covering her mouth, mortified. “I—I didn’t realize I was singing out loud. I’m sorry.” Makayla smiled gently, her voice warm and reassuring. “Don’t stop. You have a beautiful voice.” Lilac glanced shyly down, a hesitant smile returning. “I just...really love this song.” “Me too,” Makayla murmured warmly, shifting closer beneath the blanket. “It’s called ‘Moonlight Glow.’ The lead singer, Landon Bryant, is my mom’s cousin. I grew up hearing it.”

The other part was the real basement which was below the ground. Dara’s room window opened to the garden which was at the back of the house. It was a big garden. Cold wind blew and the moon looked beautiful than anything. She put her ear phones on and played hers and Wade’s favorite song. She sang softly with the song and watched the moon as it shined. “O for I can’t help falling in love with you!” she sang. After the song finished, she thought to go to her bed and get some sleep as she was feeling tired and sleepy now.

Her back screamed possession. Did she not pick up Moon’s scent? Why was she like that? She was something different. Moon approached her slowly. He stood next to her, over the Blue Lake. The moonlight illuminated water. Moon’s eyes found Miracle’s face. Her blue eyes, her sharp features. He then looked at the reflection. “Moon and Miracle,” He said. I smiled. He was happy. Miracle snorted. She turned to look at Moon. Horrified! Was she scared?

Unexpectedly, she didn’t react that way, she only sighed and grabbed my hands. “Moonlight Shadows is very complicated and I’m afraid yours would be much more complicated” “What do you mean, Mother?” My brows scrunched up in confusion as I tried to comprehend what she said “What do you feel around Gabriel?” She asked and my eyes widened the size of saucers under her scrutinising gaze. What does she mean? Wouldn’t I be embarrassing myself by telling her these things? What would she think of me? “Do I really have to tell you that, Mother?” I asked, blush creeping onto my face as I felt slightly embarrassed.

I searched for my portable stereo. When I got a hold of it, I played my favorite mischievous song, as it blasted through the speaker. This was a celebration of me about to get away with my mischievous deeds and the grand prize, which was Jasmine...
