He crossed to an old-fashioned record player and thumbed through several albums until he found a collection of somber classical music that started with the first movement of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. The round, vinyl disc settled on the turntable like a spinning quarter, finally coming to settle. The needle hissed and sputtered against the grooves as the haunting music groaned to life. Clint sat near the leaner mirror, arms crossed over his chest, appraising. His focused observation unnerved even the most experienced sub. She was a delicate rose petal about to fall off the flower—so graceful and beautiful, even while falling and dying.

He stood there, and like a propelled rocket he came running towards us and he helped the both of us out of the eerie premises. "Lucia, stay with me." He tapped on my cheeks. I open my eyes close up to his perfect jawline even when my sight was worn out and blurry, he still looked perfect, Moon was beside him playing with the big globe in the corner, I held my hands to his cheeks and close my back into my slumber, he sighed, inferring that I would get better soon and he took care of Moon until they fell a hush of the night and fell into a slumber.

I gave him a look, and he laughed, “Do I look okay?” “Emily, you look beautiful. I swear, it’s like every pregnancy, you get more and more stunning.” I grinned when another wave of pain surged through my body. I was in so much pain that I was going in and out of consciousness. There were times that the doctor couldn’t get me back but managed to. I was trying so hard to push my baby out that I didn’t realize how weak I was getting. I could hear my husband muttering something under his breath. But then, I didn’t hear anything; all I could see was this bright light that almost blinded me. I wasn’t scared; I was at peace. It was then that a glowing figure appeared in front of me, and she smiled,

“Scout's honor. I just… I need a few minutes to process everything that's happened.” It took extracting about fifty promises that I would call for them if I needed anything, but they finally left. As soon as the door clicked shut behind them, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, instinctively reaching for that meditative state I somehow knew I needed to access. The transition was instant — one second I was lying in my bed, the next I was standing in what looked like the most perfect midnight clearing I'd ever seen. A full moon hung impossibly large overhead, bathing everything in silvery light.

I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, letting the air fill my lungs while I assessed my body and heart. It was only the morning of my birthday, and I knew my gifts wouldn’t manifest until tonight under the bright moon. The fact that it was a Blue moon made my insides tingle. Blue moons in and of themselves were rare. Mix it with the Cold full moon of December, which was always special to witches, made this an extraordinary night. Or, so I hoped. The new world is already bleeding through.” Kate raised her blade — not at him, but at the pendant on her chest. The one Elias made. “You bound yourself to the Heart of the Moon,” she said. “But you forgot what happens when you sever a tether from both ends.” She plunged the blade into the pendant. LYKOAN’S POV- “Tonight's the rodisiac full moon,” Tameka announced, looking up at me as I slowly descended the curved stairs. Kourtney and Lucidora flanked her sides in the living room. All their faces were solemn with concern. I had a plan for retribution on Boulderfist. It was perfect to do it now, but the moon's allure started to wreak havoc on my body and mind, rendering me angry, hot, and dangerously distracted. My blood roared for blood.

I turned my head and saw this innocent boy pointing upwards in amazement. "The moon! The moon!" he shouted while jumping up and down. "That's called Bluemoon, Lucas." I rubbed the top of his head. "Bluemoon! Bluemoon!" He kept repeating the word that was probably still unfamiliar to him. I didn't let go of Lucas' tiny hand as I looked up to take in the beauty of the blue moon above. Tonight, the moon is perfectly visible, so beautiful and powerful. She seemed to rule the night sky. She is the embodiment of the Moon Goddes who are the gods of werewolves.

It was mine. Tonight, nothing felt predictable. The moon had risen huge and white, not soft but stark—like a coin hammered flat and nailed to the sky. Its light made edges cruelly clear. The moss didn’t blur into shadow; it glittered with frost. My breath came out in ghosts. The air was so sharp with pine and damp soil that I tasted it, resin and metal at the back of my tongue. Somewhere far away, water moved. Somewhere closer, something else did.
